Elway has said he didn't want another Manning situation and I am almost sure the Vikes know they will land Cousins. This sounds like it would be the Jets. They have a ridiculous amount of cap space and need a QB.

I mean Im thankful but lets not act like he did us some huge favor.

The guy has been here over a decade, has probably 100 million, and has basketball team of kids that he probably doesnt just want to up and move to play for maybe 2 to 3 years

Manning turned them into immediate contenders after a serious injury. They were a joke before. You telling me they wouldn't want the same situation with a healthy Brees.

Does it make sense for Drew to leave, learn a new offense and not have as good of a chance of winning a super bowl than he does right here? In addition, I fully expect Drew to become involved in the program after he retires from playing. He made the right move.

Well he could have left and taken $60M.

Or keep bargaining with that and the Saints

Good on Brees

Hahahaha. Dude. 2yrs, 50mm, 27mm guaranteed and 2 years, 60mm, fully guaranteed aren't even in the same ballpark. He turned down a significant amount of money to stay loyal

loyal to the organization and his family. i think the latter is the determining factor in all of this

whats funny is that this board has been saying for awhile that Brees would be bending us over the table with this contract.

i never said it wasnt a large amount of money between the contracts. i just dont think it was the deciding factor, which obviously is the case

There's absolutely no doubt that his family factored into this decision. But that's a big choice to make, even for a guy that's earned 180mm in career salary alone. Drew wants to stay in Nola and he's committed to making a winning team. At the end of the day, it was a great deal for the saints
