we run the double jet burners and on the rubber hoses i wrap them with heat tape for the first foot or so next to the burner and never have problems. boiled over 10k pounds last year, no trouble.

Also, if you use a burner that is made for a smaller pot, it will have a shorter heat shield. Add a larger pot and you get a hot hose.
Ding ding ding.
We have a winner.

I added a 6" pipe nipple coming off of the burner on mine to attach the hose to just to get the hose away from the heat a little bit.... I was having issues with the end of the hose melting. Haven't had any issues since.

I got a double burner with a 60 psi regulator. If you unbolt it from the slab and turn it upside down, it could have you in low earth orbit in under 3 minutes
And I have never had a hose break. Worst I’ve had is mud divers get into the jet nipples and build a nest

LOLz. I went to a striaght needle valve this year. Boil dat water in under 10 minutes, baw.

Sounds like op is using a standard crescent wrench. Should be using a metric one instead!

It sounds like the fitting you attach to the burner is poorly made. The only sure way to test it is to cap or plug the fitting, open the gas to put pressure on the hose fitting and soap it to test for leaks.
If it is the fitting, ditch it and go to your nearest Hank Hill and have him make a good one for you.

Paint fittings with soapy water. Leaks will bubble.

There are no leaks. He used his super accurate hand test.

I have never had that happen...and can't really think of a reason why it should be happening to you, either.
one thing I would check is that the hose is rated for LPG and can handle the tank pressure...it may be hard to see, but this info should be stamped into along the side of the hose.
