BATON ROUGE - Authorities say one person is dead after they were struck by a vehicle on Jefferson Highway Thursday afternoon.
The incident was reported around 3:15 p.m. in the 12000 block of Jefferson Highway. Police say a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
One woman is dead after being hit by a car near the Jefferson Lakes Apartments. The coroner's office was called out to the scene, according to officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The incident happened on Thursday, January 11 near 12300 Jefferson Highway just before 3 p.m.
We have a crew en route to the scene. We will update this story when we know more.

So very sad. What was probably a normal week has just changed forever for this family.

I drove by right after it happened. Just laying there in the road. I had to keep my kids busy so they wouldn't see it. Messed me up.
