I have never used a gunsmith in the Lafayette area. I had a freak accident with my deer rifle damage the magazine. I need to have it repaired pretty quickly so I can use it on an Alabama deer hunt in three weeks. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Bayou Teche Guns in Arnaudville. Best gunsmith anywhere around. 337-754-5115...they should be able to fix you up.

I'm from there and I wouldn't let him work on a pellet gun. I had bad experience with his work.

My advice is to go elsewhere.

I know at least 7 people who won't use anyone else.

Yep. Long before bayou Teche Guns was in business.

He has a good business but he will never get another dollar from me. And this was when he first opened and was supposedly top notch. I'm not the only one who feels he is subpar either.

My in laws, Arnauds, live right down the road. Odds are you know one of them if your from there, there are so many of them .

Been going there way longer than that's been there (married almost 26 years now). I think that building was an auto parts place? Maybe NAPA?

One bad experience can surely color someones experience. The guys I know all had good experiences, but even that can change over time, as well. I haven't talked with those guys about guns in at least 3 years now (our jobs kind of sent us in different directions).

Just spent Christmas with my wifes family at a camp in the Bayou Portage area.

I might know them. I know a few from there.
Yea it used to be Napa.

It wasn't just one bad experience. Like I said I'm done with them. Before Facebook there was only one Google review, from a guy out of town. He had a bad experience also.

Maybe he is better now, but if I need a gunsmith I will ship my guns somewhere else.

Personally used him to work on 3 of my guns over the last 5 years and couldn’t be happier. My only complaint is that he takes a little while to turn guns around.

I second this. Mr. Comeaux did some good work for me.

I actually live down the road from Bayou Teche guns too. I've always had good experiences with Mike and Zach. I know a lot of people that use them too without any complaints.

Jace Otipoby in Carencro. Until then, use one of your other rifles.

I brought my gun to Mr. Mike at Bayou Teche Guns and I will definitely go there again. Very good price and the turnaround was very quick. They have earned a loyal customer.
