Very easy to put sell orders in. 75k can be eaten up in a matter of seconds
Depends on the exchange. Bittrex for example charges 0.25% on your transaction
Easier than online gambling. These websites aren't doing anything illegal like the gambling ones. They are insured if that means anything to you

So it's great and all that everyone is making a quick buck, but everyone in this thread is classifying Bitcoin as an investment vehicle and not a currency. If your goal is to go USD>BTC >wait for appreciation>USD then your just hoping that more and more people find out about Bitcoin and decide to invest in order to drive the price up. And once people either stop deciding to invest or institutional money takes their gains and leaves, whoever is left holding BTC is fricked because nobody actually wants to use the shite as a currency.

In one sentence, can someone tell me what the value of bitcoin is tied to?
Also if the value continues going up, wouldn’t that prevent it from becoming a widely accepted currency? No one would ever spend it like they would a dollar.
Not trying to downplay the rise. I just truly don’t understand.

Bitcoin is currently is a more useful, secure store of value than gold. Not a very useful currency. There are solutions coming that will scale Bitcoin to Visa levels of transaction volume. The phone companies didn't think the internet would eat their business either. Sears didn't think the internet would eat their business, Newspapers didn't think the internet would eat their business.
Banks currently think the internet isn't going to eat their business. They are wrong. Just like the former industries and companies mentioned.

You are overlooking the political power of banks to force changes in law.
