Long and Jerry Jones are pro Les. This could happen. Fact is Les can recruit like a madman, and R Kansas needs players. Not out of the question.

Brett will be back....

Someone should tell Miles that he can't squeeze LSU for a raise anymore.

Better than what we have. Anybody is outside of Butch Jones.

So Arkansas will fire Bret Bielema and hire Bret Bielema 2.0. Les will run the ball the entire game and never develop a quarterback. But instead of doing it with 4 and 5 star players he will be running his 50’s offense with 2 and 3 star players. It should work out great. Hire him.

If Les Miles went to Arkansas for five years he would average 8 wins a year, never lose more than six (first year) and go 3-2 against LSU. Because that's how The Universe works.
IMHO, Arkansas has had a series of bad character guys going back as far as I can remember. Just one guy that is hard to make eye contact with after another. If they ever got a high character guy they'd be profoundly confused.

They're just hoping Alleva will extend his buyout.

Don't want Les but Bielema's problem hasn't really been developing a QB. The OL lately and defense have done him in. '15 and '16 had very good QB play.

We have mostly 3 and 4 stars. Not sure how many 2 stars there even are in the SEC.

No, because it isn't true. This hire isn't up to Jeff Long.
Norvell and Malzahn are going to be the two main targets.

Well the new LSU coach isn't doing much better with regards to the offense this year. Not developing a QB either.

Anyone else hearing this? Apparently the administration in Fayetteville is looking for immediate 3-4 years of stability to get the ship righted while they hire a more permanent long-term guy once Les officially hangs it up. Jeff Long has always been a Les guy, both knowing each other from their Michigan ties. Both know this isn’t a long-term deal and are on the same page as far as goals go with what they’re trying to do
What a dumb business decision. So they would effectively be hiring Les as an "interim" coach? So Les's role would be to "build the program up" to some extent...then leave and allow the BIG name who is "dying" to come to Arkansas to step in? I'm sure the other SEC schools wouldn't use that against Les in recruiting.
Look, Les did a great job for a long time at LSU. He was a good recruiter. But how much of that is Les vs. LSU? It's a combination of both. Les is a good salesman, but it doesn't hurt when you have a ton of in-state talent to which to sell your product. Les won a lot of games by locking down LA talent, then cherry-picking from places like East Texas, Florida and Georgia. He won't have the luxury of creating the foundation for a championship team with strictly in-state talent at Ark.

This would be great! All we would have to do is put 8 in the box! Seriously! Why worry LSU Fans. Easy Win
