Anyone else hearing this? Apparently the administration in Fayetteville is looking for immediate 3-4 years of stability to get the ship righted while they hire a more permanent long-term guy once Les officially hangs it up. Jeff Long has always been a Les guy, both knowing each other from their Michigan ties. Both know this isn’t a long-term deal and are on the same page as far as goals go with what they’re trying to do

Hopefully he takes Cam Cameron with him. Also Chavis is gonna get ran out of aTm soon so he could be reunited with Les

They’re really thinking Pelini could come back to Coach the D and be the HCIW, strong possibility

That wouldn't be a bad option for Arkansas. Pelino could be a very good coach if he can keep his emotions in check.

Why would les go to a place knowing that they’re already looking for his replacement? Now we hire “program stabilizers” instead of dudes that want to win championships.

Just to clarify, this is like the fourth thread in the past 3 hours with a different sourced coach to UT

Pelini let a convicted rapist join his Youngstown State team. That and his well known anger issues lead me to believe that no sane AD will hire him to an FBS job ever again.

DO. NOT. WANT.

We could do worse, but then again, we can do better.

I'd love it. If O sucks arse next year, canning him just owing him $5 million and with Les having to give up some of that buyout money for being at a new job would be much easier and effortless.

That's a near worst case scenario for O. Makes O expendable as well as Miles would be a serious recruiting problem.

Les is a great recruiter, if he hired a good OC and let him do his job he'd be ok. Plus id love to watch Les invade LA recruiting grounds

Less than a 0% chance this happens. No way in hell does the big money let a guy who got fired by LSU and called us R-Kansas become our coach. Long won’t have a say in this hire. He will be lucky to even have a job when the hire is announced. It’ll either be Malzahn or Norvell.

Crowton has reached out to Les and is ready to reunite the staff.
