Going to be over there for business for a few days this week. Any memorable or interesting restaurants and/or bars?

Willy Burger in Beaumont.

ETA: There is a Lupe Tortilla in Beaumont now. It's a solid Tex-Mex place. Alot of Houston people on this board will swear they have the best beef fajitas in the city, though I am not one of them. But the food is good.

Cha Thai is one of my favorites in Beaumont. I also prefer hamburger depot vs Willy burger.

Never been, but the name and logo for Willy Burger screams "just another burger joint" to me. I was looking for something a little more interesting.

Wanted to hit that place on a trip back from Houston with a hang over.... can't remember if they were closed or not, but we stopped at DaddiO's and it was damn good.... well at least my hungover self thought it was greasy griddle deliciousness.

Last night I went with some friends to a place called Frankie's Italian Grill. It was surprisingly good. My wife and I will go back.

I'm from Lafayette, and lived in Port Neches for 2 years, while working in Beaumont. I promise you Willy Burger is really good. The grind their own meat in house, in a kitchen behind glass that you can see the process, while you wait in line (if there's a wait). The place is clean AF, and all the sides are very good. Oh, and they have funnel cakes.

Chaba Thai and the Grill are good. I heard good things about the italian place mentioned in this thread.

Sartin's seafood (bbq crabs) is good. There was an upscale, NOLA style bistro in Nederland, but I don't remember the name, and don't see it on google.

After that... it gets pretty thin, outside of Mex and chains.

Republic chicken is very good. It's homestyle and you share all the sides

Elena's on College has one of the best chili rellenos that I have ever had. Very solid menu and I have never had a bad meal there.

If you have never had the BBQ crabs of Southeast Texas, go to Sartin's in Nederland or Sartin's West in Beaumont. My childhood was filled with the wonderful smell of those crabs back when the Restaurant was still in Sabine Pass. It is definitely a must do experience at least once.
