MCW to Bulls

The Bucks have traded Michael Carter-Williams to the Bulls for Tony Snell. I find this pertinent to the Pels because mayhaps this could make the door even more open for a Tyreke for Monroe swap? I would think that eventually Milwaukee will need someone to get the ball to their wings and playmakers. Giannis at the point doesn't seem like it will work long term to me.

Monroe for Tyreke still makes sense as the most likely big move the Pels could make.
Monroe + Keep our 2017 pick vs.
Giving up our pick for Noel/Okafor/Vucevic.
Considering the biggest reason for the acquisition price difference is years of control and that shouldn't be a concern with Monroe, it seems like you have to go with Monroe if you're going this direction at all.
I realize Noel is a bit different in that he's a defensive flavor of one way big and unlike Asik he can finish at the rim reliably, but do you really want to give up a 1st to pay $20 million for an Asik upgrade while you still have Asik on the roster? Getting Tyreke while Gordon was still on the roster with uncertain trade value ended up being a poor decision that locked the Pels into an unbalanced roster for a few years.

if they do a Noel trade now:
1) they get a year of Noel on his rookie deal
2) they might play defense well enough to make the playoffs and thus put that pick out of the lottery
3) they can re sign Noel at his 20 and try to move asik next year
all of this assumes holiday comes back in time to help

With our injury history this team has the potential to be a bottom 5 team. I wouldn't touch anything now and just see how it plays out. Another top 5 pick would help this team more than if they get pounced in the first round.

Still one of the worst trades in last couple of years was sending Knight to the Suns to acquire MCW

if they do nothing to improve the defense I agree with you, they are going to struggle mightily
Noel would theoretically shore up the front court defense and free Davis to roam

For the Suns, maybe. It's a net neutral for Milwaukee, because I would rather let Knight go than pay him
The Suns gave up the Lakers pick for the right to pay Knight and now no longer need him. Philly won that trade, Suns lost, and Bucks... meh

I don't trust Monroe to not pick up his 17/18 option, so I would avoid.

Most recent Dunc'd On had Verrier to talk about the Pels
LINK
They were both optimistic about the defense. Duncan thought that top 10 this year is not entirely crazy.
Recorded before AD ankle sprain, but still it's all good; just over an hour long.
One thing that stood out to me was Verrier talking about this year being a table setting year. Something Pels fans need to probably heed, even before Davis went down

I just hope we don't get antsy if we start to show signs of identity and life and abandon the "process."
And other then the (expected) Duncan digs at Hield, I was pleasantly surprised and a bit taken aback by how optimistic they were with our defensive potential.
Can't say I share the optimism unfortunately.

Would not want to give up our 1st for Monroe. I am not sure we really have legitimate interested in him.
