The OT don't care unless a dog was shot.

-In 2008 he was accused of rape of a 16 year old
-In 2010 he pled to a lesser charge of no contest for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
-Prior to that, in his 13 years with the force, he was discipline twice.
-In 2103 he wants his job back.
GTFO, Mr. Webb. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

This guy has been unemployed for 5 years? He want's that job back? With his 2 previous reprimands, and arrest he should be a top 5 candidate at any other agency.
Perhaps it's a ploy by his legal team to add more culpability to the BRPD if they re-employed him?

Perhaps it's a ploy by his legal team
This is what most likely happened, he appealed knowing he would be denied, but if he can proved that the ruling took too long he can go to court and argue that his due process was violated. A court can rule that he is entitled to back pay. Most cities would rather pay a cop for a couple of years than continue to run up legal bills not knowing the outcome.
Example an NOPD cop while on duty started drinking whiskey, took a dozen prescription pills then opened fire on his personal car. He shot more than 20 rounds into his car. NOPD responded thinking he was in a gun battle only to find him wasted talking about suicide. He was charged and pled no contest. But his termination violated the 'Police Bill of Rights'
quote:
A panel of state appellate court judges voted 2-1 Wednesday to reverse an earlier decision upholding the dismissal of a New Orleans Police Department officer who fired his service weapon numerous times into his personal car while on duty. The main reason is one that by now is familiar for the NOPD: The department's internal investigation into Patrick O'Hern took too long, violating his rights under the law.....However, O'Hern would be entitled to back pay for the duration of his termination if the city fails to get Wednesday's decision overturned
There were multiple case like this over the summer

Did you guys read the link? His conviction was for a pretty messed up situation. If he wasn't a cop, the OT would be discussing this one.
He was dating a 21 year old. OT would approve.
Him and said girlfriend want to have a threesome. OT would approve.
Said girlfriend says she will go out and bring a girl home. OT is now on its feet cheering for this guy.
Girlfriend picks up 16 year old, feeds her vodka and instructs her to tell boyfriend she is a "18 year old LSU student." Uh Oh. This isn't going to end well.
She brings drunk girl home and threesome ensues. If it wasn't for the previous paragraph, OT would be happy.
Guy is subsequently charged with Rape but it is bumped down to Carnal Knowledge. If he wasn't a cop, OT would be questioning his guilt and wanting to know why girlfriend isn't the one to burn on this.
Not defending the guy because he was a cop so stow that crap. Just saying, this is a little more complicated than a school teacher banging a student that they know to be underage.

And a veteran LEO that should be an expert on identifying underage sexual exploitation didn't get suspicious about her age? This girl was 16, don't tell me this guy didn't have a clue. LEO's, especially veteran LEO's do not have a moral or ethical leg to stand on if something like this happens. They would happily arrest and jail any other person that this happened to and laugh at them an tell them to tell it to the judge if they said "I had no idea she was underage". Ignorance is no excuse for the common folk and is even less of an excuse for a veteran LEO IMO.

Whatever. I think everyone has seen a 16 year old girl (or guy for that matter) that could easily pass for college age. Not saying he made a good decision or that it was something I would have done but the real question is why his crazy arse girlfriend didn't get charged on this.
