Thanks for the responses...sounds like a mixed bag. I'll post about it after our meal tonight.

I think you'll have a good meal. I'm interested in any stand out dishes if there are any.

One more try. Has anyone been for dinner? I've got an early reservation tomorrow. What's the go to stuff.

I passed by it today and actually thought of asking this.

Just realized this is an old thread and I already posted, just never checked back in.

I haven't seen any other threads on it and there are no ratings or reviews in the dining guide.

Not sure if it matters to anyone, but Fitzmorris wrote a pretty negative sounding review of the place. Of course it goes with the standard garbage about it being too new, etc, but the pictures of the food and review it seem like they were going for the typical tourist trap experience or something.

I'm sure things will get better and I can't wait to dine on their upstairs balcony when the weather gets better.

It's hard for me to pass up Muriel's on the other side of the square, or K Paul's right down the street if the place doesn't have a solid rating. Also there is that place almost right next door that is supposed to be excellent.

Fitzmorris nor Brett Anderson have been yet either, it seems.

Hate to trust yelp. Thanks anyway

It is fairly knew.

Not sure what would give you the expectation that a Brennan's run place would adapt to criticism. That is not my experience.

Never been to Tableau, but I can say that Sylvain blows Muriel's out of the water. Probably Tableau too, considering the "quality" of most other Brennan's egg-forward restaurants.

I really only go to Muriel's so much because I went to school with all of Chef Gus' kids, took his daughter to prom and have had his home cooking.
Been going to his places since he was at Palace Cafe.
They live not far from me in Kenna.

Just realized I never posted the review. Party of 4 went on a Friday night. Sat in the bar area which was LOUD until the theatre crowd left. Started with the appetizer platter, which was just bad. Small mealy crab claws, tiny shrimp, etc. Bread service was pretty sad as well - one tiny piece per person. The meal improved from there, however. All of the entrees were pronounced to be delicious. The drinks are well-poured. The dessert list is large and our choices were well-received. I would go back again, but with managed expectations.

It was in his newsletter. Might be up on his website in a few days.

Cool deal. At least they don't own a McDonald's .. then you'd really be fricked.
