Has there never been a good Center/Guard drafted with the 31st pick?

I'm not arguing that maybe Dallas reached to get this guy. But if they felt he was a good player that can contribute better than who we have on the roster now then that's their decision.

I think since we traded our original pick at 18 to fall back and grab the 31st and a 3rd rounder then you have to look at who they pick with both picks before you can say it was a good move or not.

I'm kind of thinking that they wanted to trade farther back again, but nobody was biting to trade up to get Geno.

Like people are saying, they could have (we are assuming) waited until later to get Fredricks. So the plan would have been to trade back about 10 more picks or something then get him and a 4th rounder or something.
If nobody was taking the trade then what do you do? You drat the guy you want. Maybe he is over drafted there, but overdrafted based on what? Based on the other 31 teams rosters? We need to draft based on our roster, which is in desperate need of OL help.

I said months ago that if we don't draft an OL in the first I'll be pissed. We did. I am not pissed. I'll wait unil the draft is over to judge, then I'll wait another couple years to judge again.

Also, what's the name of that Safety we drafted last year that got hurt pre-season? Isn't he supposed to be a solid safety? Not to mention we picked up in free agency.

Yes, I'm trying to rationalize the pick. There has to be some reason, right?

Pretty much the same as I did in 2006 and 2009.

Matt Johnson. I think they still have high hopes on the kid. And I wouldn't expect much from Will Allen, that was more of a depth signing and I think to help teach Kiffin's defense to this squad

Yes, thanks. I remember being excited about him then completely deflated when he got hurt. Little did I know that would be the story of 2012 Cowboys.

I don't, but it does what you said, adds to the depth. I'm pretty sure we'll take a guy in the third. But, as was proven last night, you never know.

We definitely need a safety and looking at it more, I feel like that is our biggest need. It looks like Barry Church and Matt Johnson are penciled in as our starters, both of whom are coming off an injury with McCray and Allen backing them up

I know we picked up a Safety, and I really like what I've read on him so far, but we need some beef on the DL if there's any left. I think that's the focus with our next pick I also wouldn't mind a project QB and RB depth. Tyler Wilson and Zach Stacy, maybe?

Only 3 picks left, though. That's why though I love the upside of both Escobar and Williams, I wish they had addressed more immediate needs. I guess you can scratch the QB above and another body on defense. Still think Dallas needs another RB, though. DeMarco is fragile.

Some would argue that Frederick wasn't even the best center on the board; Cal's Brian Schwenke and Alabama's Barrett Jones

Schwenke- was the 10th player chosen on Day 3 of the draft.

feel great about a 306 # LT that runs a 4.65

All I know is that the Saints have taken 6 of the last 7 games from the boys and the year they lost they won the super bowl
