multiple analysts have stated that Fredrick would not be available at 47. I don't care what Maycock says. he was just champing at the bit to drop the "3rd round grade" on Dallas's pick. REality is the kid was going to someoone in teh top 40-45 picks no matter what

Jones is not nearly as powerful as Fredricks. There is a reason he is falling. he is versatile and will make a good quality reserve who can swing to multipole positions but I like the Fredricks kid the more tape I watch of him. he is huge and smart, his shotgun snaps are crisp and chest high, he is a double major and smart as a whip.

You say he can't play guard at the NFL level. Garrett disagrees.

What is Garrett supposed to say? "Well he is slow as shite, has terrible feet but we will try him at guard because it would look bad to say we took a center in the first round"

I wish someone had a screen cap of Red Balls' face when Jerry passed on Floyd and traded back. it was priceless. looked like he just watched a video of his wife and the mailman

Just goes to show he doesn't listen to anyone except his son

he does not have terrible feet. he is actually very quick in small spaces, just not 40 yard run. which doesn't matter for C

"Yes, the workout did expose him," said an AFC personnel man. "His feet are so (expletive) slow. He's beginning to scare me the more I watch him. Before, I had him 25 to 40. There's no way he goes first round now."

I can't believe you guys are trying to rationalize this. That was a reach if I've ever seen one. But keep on thinking Jerrah knows something the rest of the league doesn't. That's been the recipe for success the last 15 years, for sure.

Reason enough to take him. Seriously, this is enough of a reason to take him.

Because he is the only center in the draft or free agency that can make a chest high shotgun snap? You related to Jerry or something?

What are you on and can I have some of it?

Has nothing to do with Floyd. I felt like Dallas....

A) got trade raped by SF.
B) didn't get good enough value out of their pick. They reached.

I agree. Pains me to see people that still believe in Jerry and his draft strategy. Look at our past 4-5 drafts and see for yourself. He has no clue.

You don't follow the cowboys very closely if you think we have cap space to pick anyone up in FA.

Have you ever watched pre-draft coverage before? Anonymous sources constantly do stuff like this in hopes that other teams won't take the player they want.

You're making too big a deal out of it.

Tyran Smith
Mo Claiborne
Bruce Carter
Demarco Murray
Dez Bryant
Sean Lee

Those are all starters drafted the last 3 years. Before that our drafts were awful, they have gotten better.

Cowboys should have drafted someone that would have helped them to contain RG3 for the next 10 years.

Jones is the reason the Cowboys are no longer relevant & with RGIII, the Redskins have passed them up & that's saying a lot considering how bad the Skins have been in the past decade. I hope he lives to be 104 yrs old.

Yahoo writer weighs in-
Jones deflates his own football people

quote:

Garrett, at one point, had a blank look across his face as he started rubbing his forehead with his hand. Ciskowski and Stephen Jones also had an animated exchange. It was a rare show of emotion by Ciskowski.

There's good reason for the Cowboys' actual football people to be incensed by the pick....

And Frederick, for his part, told a Dallas radio station that even he didn't believe he'd be taken when he was.Wisconsin center Travis Frederick, a player many analysts had with a second- to third-round grade. Some would argue that Frederick wasn't even the best center on the board; Cal's Brian Schwenke and Alabama's Barrett Jones would also get votes. But the primary issue was that the Cowboys, a team that has drafted pretty horribly over the last few seasons, seem to have done it again in the wrong direction.
