A post I made back in August that pleasantly came true.

This team has a professional quality found in men, not boys.

I'll let you in on the secret to watch for. If LSU stops playing like emotional Louisiana people and starts playing like a gritty blue collar Midwestern team, then we are going to be great.
One of my least favorite qualities about LSU has been that they are a "passionate" team that needs to be "up" for a game. They wear their hearts on their sleeves.
This quality is wonderful in regular people and makes Louisiana culture so unique. I absolutely hate it in a football team. I want to see a team that gives maximum effort regardless of record or opponent. Very few missed assignments or penalties. Just grinders who shut their mouths and work. No off the field problems. Kelly always had ND playing that way. If LSU becomes that type of team, the sky is the limit.
And the signs are already starting to show. No academic ineligibility. No off the field issues this off season. Players are eating right and changing their bodies. Get ready.

You mean like Ohio State and Michigan did last week?

I think he's just talking about bringing their lunch pale to work. Motor never stops etc
I posted a topic back in July called: I had a vivid dream we beat Alabama
How close to accurate was that?
quote:
It was very vivid...Tiger Stadium was as electric as ever and the season gave us hope that Alabama would not be a thorn in our side 90% of the time. I would be very happy if this happened, and I definitely think it can. A&M wasn't supposed to beat Alabama last year either, but if they hadn't they would've been 0-3 in SEC play, and that probability was too low. Bama will drop one (like Georgia did in 2018), and I think we can pull it off, even if they still win it all again. ETA - score was 31-28

Did they win?
I don't mind the passion, it is almost required, to a degree, for those moments in games when you just have to make something happen. But those moments pretty much take care of themselves, the passion comes naturally there.
But that business-like attitude comes from the top. I like it a lot. I don't think that is just a midwestern thing but there were several coaches that epitomized that in the heyday of Big 10/Big 8 football that may lead one to believe that. Those existed in the SEC back then too.
That type of attitude allows you to repeatedly crawl back from deficits because everything is "what do we do from this point" and not "what could we have done differently". Always start from now, because that is really all you can do.

Yeah, and for the most part, looked like shite doing it...against lesser opponents.
Which is why I quoted the part of his post about not playing down to opponents.
