Played well in a regional and were demolished in the Super Regionals. That team wasn’t good enough to be there. You guys seriously need to chill out. There is not a man alive that would take this LSU team to National Championship this year. We’ll go .500 in Sec play and make a 3 seed in a regional. Seriously calm down. Jay Johnson is one of the best coaches in college baseball. He is not perfect.
Woodward got the best guy that was available. Vitello has a good team in Tennessee. Unless he got some guys to leave with him. He is maybe the one other guy that handle this job. But seriously calm down guys. I know the team is not up to LSU standards but based on history Jay has been successful every where he has gone. He will be here

Do you think he's made the right personnel decisions so far? How about his in-game decisions?

Their 3 best pitchers are not seniors. One freshman, one sophomore and one junior.

frick they lost their ace and Burns who’s now their ace is better than any pitcher on our team.

I think coach looks at who is practicing well (we don't see that) and then makes decisions from there.

Some players are all american practice players and wilt under the lights. Being that this is coach's first year, it's going to take time to see who is fooling him at practice.

I expect after he gets burned a few times, he will make more changes and it will impact his coaching decisions. You are starting to see that already.

No. And his in game decisions are worse than Mainieri.

That’s a complete question dodge and deflection which means the answer is no he hasn’t.

OK.

The decisions he is making are not working. But you can't expect a first year coach to get them all right the first time.

I'm more concerned with... will coach learn and make different decisions in the future.

Think how bad the guys that aren’t playing must be.

They barely made the SEC tourney last year and lost GM 1 (which was almost a must-win) to an average UGA team.
Got shutout by Gonzaga and needed extras to beat fricking Central Connecticut St. They did rally to beat Oregon twice, but calling last year’s team a “super regional team” is a bit misleading.

CJJ in way over his head in SEC. Especially in team defense.

You’ve come to this conclusion after 4 SEC games?
Did you see Johnson’s Arizona team beat an SEC team in supers last year to go to Omaha?

You do know our 2021 beat OM at Oxford 2 of 3 and almost swept. Up 9-1 going into the bottom of the 8th in G3 and lost it.

Yep, and was 2 extra inning losses away from a series win @ Tenn. They played well at times and poorly at other times, very frustrating.

Correct.

They were young. Because all of the '20 SEC season was wiped-out by Covid, we had two position players starting vs State that had played in an SEC game before (Dugas played some in '19 coming off injury and Beloso - Gio and Bianco were hurt).

This team is not young.

This idea that LSU is not talented is just plain wrong. (Top 10 recruiting last 4 years+) Other than Beloso, you’re healthy. You’ve got a pitching staff loaded with talent that can’t locate pitches and hasn’t shown improvement. It doesn’t take the best pitchers in baseball to work the corners.
Whether its Paul’s fault or JJ’s fault or a combination of both is a fair argument, but lack of talent? Hmm, no

This is just plain wrong.

You forget about Millazo’s injury somehow? His injury is hurting us bad right now.
Did you forget abt Coleman’s injury? His injury was a major blow to our pitching staff. He wouldve probably been our Sunday dude, midweek arm at the worst. The dude could deal. And he was LHP, which CJJ and CJK have serious infatuations for…
Edward’s is still nursing a knee injury and is no where near 100%…

Another incorrect statement. Did you forget that Blake Money didn’t even make the trip to Eugene last year with the team?
Have you not seen Veitmeier absolutely shoving this year?

The other dudes eating innings weren’t on the team last year, so who would you say hasn’t shown improvement?

You do know that LSU’s 2021 team started SEC play 4-10?

You do know that LSU’s 2021 team lost 7 out of 10 SEC series?

You do know that LSU’s 2021 baseball team was 13-17 in SEC play?

You do know that LSU’s 2021 team was embarrassed in the Super Regional by Tennessee?

You do know that most the players on the 2021 team are still at LSU?

People do not remember how that team was. All the info is out there to research. Jay Johnson should be given the chance to coach and mold this into his team.
