I need a sack in two weeks. Will be boiling on the west bank down the road a bit, but I'm willing to drive to Kenner, East, St. Bernard, etc...

Any suggestion on good places to order and how far in advance?

Wade's at the westwego shrimp lot. About the same price you'll get anywhere else, but great size.

Check out the “Crawfish App”. It’s a great starting point. I’d still call the shop you are interested in picking up from before just driving out there in case of an app delay/change.

I like Castnet and usually buy from there. I wish they would relocate from N.O. East.

I had boiled from Castnet on Saturday evening, was with another family and we split 30 lbs boiled and a dozen boiled crabs.

Down da road like towards Avondale, or down da road like towards Belle Chasse?

If towards Avondale, just go to the shrimp lot.

If towards Belle Chasse, take the ferry over and go to Casanova in Poydras.

3 days in advance is fine.

Call Johnny's Seafood on Lapalco (near Barataria) and order the size sack you need.

I'd also recommend checking out Danny & Bonnie's on Belle Chasse Hwy. Usually good prices and always good quality crawfish. The people there are always accommodating, and I usually only give 12-24 hours notice. Never a problem.

Pretty much my go-to for crawfish and those mini-sacks of oysters. For stuff like live crabs and fresh shrimp, I usually hit the lot in Westwego.

Castnet has never disappointed me. Clean and very few dead ones. Call a day or two before and ask if you need to reserve.

I usually call Bevi when I’m in town. They are usually pretty consistent.
