I want to know where folks are still getting good crawfish for under a dollar a lb. I think the cheapest I was able to get last year was around $1.50/lb for mediums.

Got a buddy that manages a grocery store that only sells live on the weekend. He'll always call me on Mondays if they have any left and sells them for $1/lb. It's rare that it happens around here these days, but you can bet when it does that I'm boiling crawfish on a Monday/Tuesday...

I lucked into a guy from another guy at work. Dude would go out on Saturday morning and catch them. Id have a sack by 11am for $50. Not sub $1, but these were so fresh the didnt even have time to cool off in a refrigerator or anything.

I'm a def hoping the guy goes out again this season.

Bud called bullshite on the cauliflower boudin.

I like how they got into discussing of dusting and the purge. Probably should post this on the foot board just to start a 50 page thread.

and the purge

Their "purge" sounded more like just a regular washing to get rid of sediment/mud.

Yeah they do exactly what I do. Just run fresh water through em until it runs clear. I did hear one of the guys preface it that salt water kills them before explaining his process.
