It’s possible to like a show while also admitting that’s it a bit absurd and over the top

Naw, that's not what I see here. The snobs are all out against it.

There’s a 67 page season 4 thread on this board Seems like plenty of people are still watching

But yes, there will be a higher percentage of “snobs” on a board specifically for movie and tv shows. People that post on here will generally be more critical

I just started it last week. I'm now on Season 3. It's a good watch. Beautifully filmed. Kind of a cross between Giant and Banshee, with a little Succession sprinkled in.

It's not revelatory, but its a good watch. Enjoy seeing Costner in this role.

The wife and I started this last week and have finished season 1. I was pretty underwhelmed.

First of all, is all this horrible stuff happening in like a month? I remember them saying it was April at some point.

They just straight up murder people. Most are folks who haven’t really done anything to warrant that. I’m not sure why I want to watch four more seasons of this.

It feels kind of soap opera-esque where you are just supposed to forget stuff from a couple of episodes ago. It could be so much better if Costner’s character wasn’t such a terrible person and was actually a little more cunning and clever. He just kind of relies on killing people.

The scenery is amazing and I think the characters are fleshed out pretty well. I just don’t like them. It’s kind of hard to like murderers.

I don’t get the love affair with Taylor’s stuff. We watched 1883 a while back and it definitely didn’t stick the landing.

I'm sure it's known, but Taylor Sheridan is Chief David Hale in Sons of Anarchy. Gets killed in season 3 I think.

Once you figure that part out, the comparison makes perfect sense.

we've tried Yellowstone a few times and it's a bit over the top. we did 1883 and agree, but i did like it. we're in the middle of 1923 as well. some of the same tropes and eye rolling decisions.

that being said, sicario, hell or high water. wind river, tulsa king, and Lawman:Bass Rivers are pretty well done stuff. imperfect but well written.

he's better writing than directing.

If you are age 60 or older and enjoy Fox News, you should start Yellowstone, pronto.

Most people will say yes. It’s the Sons of Anarchy with horses instead of motorcycles.. If that sounds good to you, sure.
Never got why people loved it so much.

She’s terrible. She goes on these manic diatribes where she blathers on and on but essentially says nothing and makes no point. And she’s a psycho.

I’m on episode 2.4 and I really hate what they have done with Jamie’s character.

Costner is a little easier to handle so far this season. Kayce’s wife has gotten pretty annoying. “Fight for me!” Why make it a fight? And stop giving your physical therapist frick me eyes and then pulling the I’m married card.

I just feel like someone has to be the conscious of this show and that person may have been Lee who died in episode one. shite, the mom even sucks and she’s been dead for 20 years.

Having said that, the stories and characters are interesting enough to keep me watching. It’s also always good writing to make the setting as much as a character as the actors themselves. Yellowstone nails that.

Remember when Kayce snuck on to that airplane?

What about the dinosaur bones they found?

I made it through three episodes. How many murders take place in such a small town without any repercussions? Seemed ridiculous.

Beth ruins it in the later seasons.

She becomes unwatchable and a caricature of a person.
