Credible is used loosely but let’s give it to them for the sake of argument.

You’re claiming we “lost Riley” when absolutely zero credible sources ever claimed we were even going after him.

Yeah, um, you should go back and read the Football Scoop piece above, which specifically says we DID pursue him. Also, Dellenger reported we did pursue him. So sorry.

it’s obvious to all rational people that we swung and missed on Riley.

How? What’s the evidence beyond what started here that should have never been taken seriously to begin with.

No, the truth is, the Riley shite started here and half this fan base started believing it and got all worked up about the idea of it and it spread beyond this board like a damn virus.

All real sources were saying they had hear NOTHING regarding Riley the entire time.

Peruse him meaning we reached out to judge interest. We did that with a lot of coaches. There is zero evidence Woody ever thought he had Riley.

I will go further to say there was always more interest from Woody in Kelly. There were legit sources claiming we reached out to Kelly even before we officially fired Ed O. There are legitimate sources who say that Kelly has even vetted the job himself. The week before O was officially let go, Walker Howard (our top recruit) went to visit ND. (He was told to go visit Kelly by Woody is my speculation to see if he liked Kelly). Now we are getting reports that we are officially going after Kelly.

It’s Kelly. It’s always been Kelly.

Did you read the part in the Football Scoop article where it clearly says USC "snatched" Riley away while we "continued" the pursuit? Try again.

Dimitiri, step away for the next week or so. Make a cocktail, watch some Netflix and take a break.

Are you unfamiliar with how journalism works? They are a legitimate journalistic outfit and they rely on their sources, as they state. That is how all journalism functions. It's not a court of law. They don't have produced documents and sworn testimony.

And a statement from a credible organization holds a thousand times more weight than the stupid ramblings of basement fanboys who insist that Woodward is infallible because, golly gee, they just know it in their faithful little hearts.

Moreover, just sheer human logic and timing supports the notion that the new push for Kelly is a reaction to events over the weekend. It isn't an amazing coincidence.
