USC is just a better job than LSU period. Better resources, better history, and easier path to CFP. Can’t blame Lincoln at all. Who would want to come in this rat hole of Baton Rouge over Southern California. Smart man.

Lincoln was scared of the SEC. The only thing better about USC is the easier path to the playoffs. But we don’t want a soft coach anyways. Explains why his defense was so soft every year.

LSU has three national championships with its last 3 head coaches. One of those teams is considered the best ever. LSU is the better football program. It’s really not close. USC gets it popularity because it’s Los Angeles. frick California.

they’re paying 15 mil a season for a guy who inherited a program someone else built. USC ain’t OU, he’s gonna have to build that from scratch.

I’m not saying it isn’t an explosive hire, but USC is making a huge gamble

this has always been my concern with riley. ou is still pretty much at the same level as stoops left it.

Complete BS.

USC is a better job for a SEC fearing coach. They play in the Pussay Athletic Conference 12. They will get Big West Coast promotion so will make CFP, but like Big 12 OU they will not have the power! LSU has the second most natties since the BCS/CFP era. LR knew his OU teams could never compete in the SEC. He chose wisely with USC, but LSU will win a Natty before LR’s USC!

NIL has a chance to make USC the better job. Both 9.9 out of 10s.

Well that's not true

better history

Key word being history. Like 20 years since actually relevant for a championship. Meanwhile LSU has been to the big game 3 times since USC "won" a fake championship with LSU.

Agreed, but funny how no Pac-12 teams make the playoffs on a routine basis

Nah.

They've been shaky since Carroll left, and the fanbase isn't even half as passionate. It's SoCal, so when the team falters, there's always something else to do. (I lived there for 10 years, FWIW.)

LSU is a program for serious football and a passionate fanbase. That's plenty for any legit coach or player to consider.

Can people stop with this? For normal people, yes 100% cost of living is a huge factor.

You eventually reach a certain level of wealth where it doesn’t matter how much further your dollar goes. And when you’re making 10+ million per year, you don’t care that your $5M home in Southern California could buy more in Baton fricking Rouge

They’re pretty much the same caliber honestly. You’ll find some people who would prefer USC and some who would prefer LSU. Lincoln obviously preferred SC. Sucks but it is what it is. We’ve been on the wrong end of the stick in recent years with guys choosing other elite programs over us - Herman, Freeman, Riley
