Hasn't gone 2-7 yet though.

Riley and it is not even close.

Aranda is my first choice regardless. Herman as OC would be a bonus.
Pretty much my sentiments as well.

Aranda as HC with Herman as his OC would be amazing for the first year, maybe two. But, Herman would bolt for another HC gig and Aranda would have to recreate the magic Herman brought.
Riley suffers the same on the DC side.
Toss up, but I'd go Aranda combo as 1A, Riley as 1B

Who is this I reference to?
Riley inherited a good program. He’s done nothing to elevate it.

Either would work. Riley you know you're getting an offensive mind and a QB developer. Aranda/Herman you know you're getting both, but you can't count on both staying the course. Hopefully, whoever the coach is, it is announced soon.

There's 2 coaches this thread is about. Riley is the one that didn't go 2-7...after inheriting a program that was 11-3.

All the qbs, receivers, etc. who have been choosing other programs over LSU over the past 15 years will choose LSU with Riley. He will have instate talent plus will be able to recruit nationally like he does now.

Still don’t know who you are talking about.
And Riley hasn’t done anything of worth.

Arranda and whoever as his OC by a long shot.

As much as I like Riley, I think Aranda as HC with Herman as his OC would be deadlier in the new SEC.
As much as I like the sound of an Aranda-Herman combo, I don’t like the sound of looking for a new OC as soon as LSU has a good season and Herman runs off for a new HC gig.

Aranda/Herman would be a pretty significant upgrade from any coaching combo in a long, long time. As much as we all enjoyed Ens/Brady plus Aranda, having Aranda/Herman, and frankly, I'd like Aranda to push for Raymond as his DC (or, at worst, Recruiting Coordinator).
While Grimes may stay at Baylor (hell, he might get the big chair if Aranda leaves), the possibility of Grimes coming back and doing the RGC/OL with Herman is another interesting possibility if Aranda is the pick. Of course, that's likely to be considered a demotion for Grimes.

Well, then, how about my idea of Grimes coming back as OCIW (again, assuming he doesn't feel like that's a demotion or get the big chair at Baylor)?

Riley with Pry from Penn St or the Iowa State DC as DC.
