LSU will not get leveraged again

Miles created all sorts of smoke to get raises and O engineered the system to land a job he didn’t deserve. The next coach needs to be picked and paid well based on proven merit and due process vs dirty and diversionary tactics. I trust Woodward to handle this.
If coaches have better opportunities lined up then they should by all means pursue them.

Welp it's already happened and is happening right now.

Ok, but this is a strange time to point that out. We are in the exact opposite situation. We are attempting to poach a coach.
And, fyi, LSU has paid very close to top dollar for about 2 decades.

not only HC's but we've had to be top 5 nearly all the time in paying assistants as well.

Pointing it out because all of a sudden Napier wants to portray himself as a ‘can’t miss’ candidate. He’s not. LSU can do better.

What’s happened? Sorry, not following.

Yeah they will. It's just the cost of doing business. If you don't ever get leveraged you're not in the hunt for the top coaching prospects. It's a calculated risk.
An AD taking it personally is how we ended up with Special Ed.

Getting financially leveraged by a legit top flight candidate vs politically leveraged by a G5 coach trying to cash in on flux are two different angles. I’m referring to the second.

Rumor that Napier's people are trying to engineer a LSU vs Florida play against each other.
Might have worked if LSU had any interest in Napier

Oh, that. It’s the entire reason I started this thread.

Yeah Napier is a good coach, but he can frick right off with this power play. Lincoln has accomplished MUCH more than Billy, who does not have the clout to bend LSU over.
Again, try winning your conference once before pulling this bullshite from the pulpit of USL. They said all the exact same things about Herman's culture at Houston that they are now saying about Napier's at USL.

What exactly has Napier said?

What good coach doesn’t believe in himself? This comment makes no sense. Just say you don’t want Napier and leave it at that.

Being leveraged is part of the game. It shows respect.

Being leveraged by Billy Napier makes us look like amateur chumps.

Hey, if it makes Florida shell out $2MM more to get him I got no problem with negotiations. I imagine we are getting a number of people paid right now: Tucker, Franklin, Riley(?)

How exactly do you prevent that if you are trying to get established coaches at big programs? You can’t, unless you want to go out and hire someone who would be beating down your door to have an opportunity.

We shall see.
I anticipate at very cheesy melt on this board once the coach is announced

Like Aranda?
Or like Saban when hired from Mich State?
Or like Urban Meyer when hired by Florida?
Or like (insert name)?
Point is…this talking-point has become standard parrot-speak among the LSU sheep and is about as stupid as an argument can be… Waiting for Belichek to decide to come to LSU will guarantee you get Les Mikes.
But please continue your diatribe against one of the top young coaching prospects in the country. It is entertaining…
