I don't think you know what that quote means.
He's saying if each individual focusses on being the best they can be the winning takes care of itself. If you don't do the first thing the second won't happen.

Campbell coached a hell of a game.
His quarterback is not good. If he was able to get 30 points a game out of that kid, I call that impressive.
