What are your thoughts on this one?? I just recently watched the video of the shooting and from the video alone, I think there is a very good chance that they have a self-defense claim.

Supposedly a witness saw him run out of a house that is under construction. There had been a string of burglaries in the area. The defendants, armed themselves then drove to where Arbery was running. They stopped in the street ahead of Arbery. Arbery then ran from the left of the truck to the right, can around the front of the truck and attacked the defendant who was holding a shotgun. It doesn’t look like that shotgun was pointed at Arbery at the time. Arbery then makes several attempts to take the shotgun from the defendant while he punches the defendant several times. The defendant continues to back away while being punched and fired the shotgun into Arbery while Arbery was actively trying to take it away.

Guys chase man, yell at him they will “blow his head off”, finally catch up to him, he attempts to rightfully defend himself from the armed men threatening to kill him, they murder him. They call their friends in law enforcement/da office and attempt to get it “handled”. Hopefully they spend life in jail.

Don’t think you can claim self defense when you “don’t know if I saw anyone leaving” and yet you load up the truck, grab some guns, and chase someone, jump out of the truck, and when that person makes a direct attempt to avoid you, you cross over the width of a truck with your gun pointed at him.

Pretty clear case of provocation against a guy who didn’t even have a box of stolen nails.

Ok. From the video alone it looks like they were ahead of Arbery and we’re waiting for him to run toward them, not chasing him. I didn’t know they threatened to blow his head off and I didn’t see any weapon pointed at him until they started fighting.

The similarities between this and the Arbery case are strikingly similar, If you take race and the media out of the equation. Two cases of a man/boy being chased by three attackers. in both cases the attackers had a preconceived opinion about their prey…..much like the discussion here. In one case the prey had an AR15 , and came out alive. In the other case the attackers had guns, and the prey ended up dead. In both cases the prey stood up and defended themselves. How many think Arbery’s killers should go free? Do the protestors in the Rittenhouse case realize they have sided with Arbery’s killers by default? Or are they too stupid to have even a shred of common sense? Is;ready know the answer, but someone should let them,in on the obvious.

As long as he's identified, ( on security cam ) , I don't see any need for 3 men to chase him down. Period. Unless he'd done some violent action, or was carrying a stolen item.

First impression is that this is nearly the opposite of the KR case. Armed men were chasing a unarmed man, and then forcing an altercation.

Change my mind.

* Down votes aren't convincing. Try harder.

This is one of the guys get off, I wouldn’t sweat any riots. These guys were complete dumbasses and definitely took the law into their own hands.

Completely different from Kyle as Kyle was never the aggressor at any point. He simply acted enough to save his own life. These guys chased AA down, threatened him, then killed him when he defended himself.

This is classic “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”

We all know Aubrey was up to no good. It’s frustrating that the media wanted to portray him as an innocent “jogger” in timberlands.

All that bullshite aside, if you are going to attempt a citizens arrest you better be damn sure you know what you are doing. These guys were wreckless and killed someone. It’s a pretty cut and dry case. They are guilty.

Is there another video that shows the shooter chase him or point the weapon at him?? Is there video of them threatening to shoot him?

I don't know enough about all the details to comment on guilt or innocence.

As a gun owner I think they're dumbasses who made very poor decisions. I think the same of Arbery.

Come on man, you really want to die on this hill?

They chased him in two cars for blocks. Then blocked the road and his path with loaded guns. I don’t think they intended to kill him but when you threaten someone, which they clearly did, and someone dies it’s your fault.

This wasn’t during a lawless riot where the police stood down. Call the police and let them do their job.

They followed him down the street in two vehicles. He did a 180° and jogged the opposite direction. They turned in the road and followed him. Whn they caught him, he again did a 180° and jogged the opposite direction. They turned in the road and followed him eventually trapping him with the pick up in front, and the car behind him. IIRC, the whole process was >5min all of which time Arbery was jogging.

Think back on the Trayvon Martin case. The shooter followed him (chased him). Trayvon attacked him. The jury was convinced that the defendant acted in self defense. And merely following him was not provocation. You have a right to follow and observe someone who you believe has committed a crime.

So it comes down to who started the violence. If they pointed guns at him and threatened to blow his head off if he didn’t stop running, then their self-defense claim is pretty much void.

This case is the actual "looking for trouble" case that media morons tried to make the Rittenhouse case out to be.

No not dying on any hill. I want to see what other people think about this self-defense claim. The video doesn’t show them completely blocking the road. It also doesn’t show guns pointed at him or threats being made. Did you watch the video on the link?

McMicheal pointed the shotgun at Arbery from the driver's side of the truck as soon as he exited the vehicle. Then he did again on the front left side of the truck where Arbery was first shot.
