Well, seeing as how the other 007 they introduced was a black female, you can pretty much bet that they will race swap him.

Christian Bale

Hiddleston is a good one though.

I think the two most fundamental Bond characteristics are:

1. Being British
2. Being masculine

To match the traditional character he should be a white guy with black hair - but I can still potentially get into a black guy as long as we're talking an Idris Elba rather than a Will Smith or Kevin Hart.

Easy options?

Fassbender
Cavill
Hiddleston

Madden’s performance in Bodyguard showed that he could pull it off

Henry Cavill - Not a bad choice. He's a little too jacked for the character in my opinion, but it could work

Watch Man From UNCLE.

Cavill would make an excellent Bond.

As I posted in another thread, make Cavill Bond and then do period piece set in the 60s at the height of the Cold War.

Too old IMHO. He's 44.

A little too old as well. He's 40.

Cavill

He's 38 and would be perfect if he was cast right now. However, if they wait a year or two before beginning pre-production on the next one, he'll be a little too old for the part.

Christian Bale

Definitely not. He's 47 right now.

Whoever they cast, he needs to be under the age of 35 and it needs to take the franchise back to its roots. Either show him as a naval commando in World War II to start out or show him as a young 00 in the early years of the Cold War.

Cavill is my top pick, but I could see Hiddleston.

It needs to be a Caucasian British guy that is relatively unknown.

Pierce Brosnan was always Remington Steele to me for example. Didn't work.

The tailor for the Bond movies actually measured Connery and Lazenby at 6’1.5 without shoes and Dalton at 6’2. Even if you don’t believe those, I think it’s fair to say all of them were right around 6’2. I get what you’re saying though. Connery just seemed bigger on screen than the other two. Though Lazenby definitely had some physicality and other than Craig, looked the most like he knew what he was doing during the fight scenes.

FWIW, Moore and Brosnan were measured 6’1 and Craig 5’10.

Yes, but the very last end credit states, "James Bond will return"

Uhhhhhh no it didn’t.

It TYPICALLY says that.

In this film, it said “007 will return.”

I don't disagree that this may happen but don't agree that it should.

James Bond (007) was written as "the son of a Scottish father, Andrew Bond, of Glencoe, and a Swiss mother, Monique Delacroixa" and should remain so.

It would make no more sense than to cast Tommy Morrison as Muhammed Ali or Harrison Ford as Nelson Mandella.

I would be OK with Idris Elba as 008, but not 007

I always thought James Purefoy would make a great Bond but he's too old now.
