Why does it have to be already well known actors? Is that the usual thing with new bond actors? Serious question.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone lesser known.

Theo James - Guy from divergent. I thought he did a decent job in divergent. Might not be a bad choice.

I’ve been watching Sanditon and he has the chops.

Gimme some Max Irons.

One of the great mysteries of the world is how this guy keeps pulling the arse he does.

Those sunken black ringed eyes must lure them in.

While not as old as Elba, still too old. You don't want to reboot/recast with a guy who will be 45 before he finishes his first film. Now, it is very unlikely that any single actor will do 7 films as Bond (which both Connery and Moore did) as even if they get the part relatively young, likely to burn out first. Also, very unlikely for an actor to star in a Bond film well into his 50s (which only Moore did) as barely 50s is about all Brosnan and Craig could manage. If they lucked into someone like Cruise or Pitt, they could push that some, but I doubt that will line up.

So - where are we at now?

Hardy and Fassbender would probably be the hottest, top tier names other than the "clearly too old now" Idris Elba. I don't think Hardy is right for Bond, but he is a good actor and could likely mold himself into it for 1 or 2 pictures, at most. I'm sure nobody wants that. I know he would be flattered and 5 or 6 years ago? Maybe.

Fassbender is an interesting choice. Probably the best all around pick if they were shooting the film right now. But, while not as old as Elba, would have a maximum of 3 movies before he is in his 50s. This is true of the perhaps even better than Fassbender choice, Chiwetel Ejiofor, as they are the same age.

So, guys a little younger than Fassbender and Ejiofor who are intriguing candidates for different reasons -

If we aren't hung on "British" Ryan Gosling is a malleable actor who could likely balance light and dark. Ditto for Oscar Isaac who might even be better in that regard.

My top 2 picks would be: Jack O'Connor and Jamie Bell

Versatility wise, Bell is off the charts good. He might not have quite the leading man looks, but is more of a younger Craig in that respect. Put him in the tux, he will get the girls' attention.

Jack O'Connor, on the other hand, seems built to play Bond. He's 32. They could theoretically get 8 pictures out of him before he turns 50 (and certainly 6 or 7), assuming he doesn't burn out.

Sam Heughan (Jamie from Outlander)

He's Scottish which is a plus

Why couldn’t Bond’s father be Black or of ME ancestry??? The UK is quite diverse.

I don’t care who plays Bond as long as they nail the swagger and confidence the character needs.

Fassbender or Cavill are probably your two best choices. Doing some research, there’s some thought that it could be Richard Madden (Robb Stark).

Could also go with a relative unknown option that no one is talking about. To me, Cavill is a little too straight-edged and innocent. Tom Holland should not even be discussed.

Hell, Prince William himself is of partial Indian descent through his Spencer bloodline.
