Aranda's LSU defenses

What was his defenses at LSU ranked? Obviously not like the horrible last two years! However, I don't remember being impressed. I guess I was spoiled rotten! Does anyone know where to find those rankings/stats?

The only thing that I did not like about Aranda's defenses at LSU was they gave up too many 3 and longs in 2019. It was reminding me of Chavis' defenses at times.

I would gladly take the bald headed ninja back as the HC. LSU would have a great defense again and a coach that could lock down 1 side of the ball. He is actually a coach other programs want

Then you’re not a very good judge of football

Lol. Not impressed with the best defensive coordinator in LSU Football history. Okay

Firs 2 defenses ranked 5th and 14th. His last 2 got hit with major injuries but still held together plenty and dominated some of the best teams in the country once healthy down the stretch in 2019.

His defenses were good. Not 2003 and 2011 good but solid.
The 2019 defense got off to a slow start and gave up a lot of big plays, but they were lights out in the postseason
He’s my personal #1 choice to replace O.

Not sure about rankings. Definitely gave up some yards and maybe not as aggressive as we've seen the last couple weeks. But Dave is efing *great* at adjusting and check-mating OCs. Very adaptable at slowing/stopping multiple different offensive looks.

2019 was a result of our offense scoring so quick therefore opposing offenses had more opportunities to score. When our offense didn't score in the 40s like against Auburn or MSU they held pretty strong.
They also got better as the year went on. By A&M, UGA, OU our defense was playing their best ball, which I'd like to believe is by design. Aranda is a long-game coach, you want to be playing your best ball in November and into the playoffs. So many September standout teams end up flaming by the end of the year, I don't see that happen with him very often.

Ranked well early on but ranked average towards the end. He made some great adjustments both in game and throughout the course of seasons. He seemed to do what was necessary to win games, even if it meant that it looked ugly on paper. In 2019, we were swiss cheese to start the year but slowly came together. By the end of the 2019 season, that LSU defense was feared. I will say that I was not ALWAYS impressed with him but I'm really not sure what was going on behind closed doors (i.e. if Ed was tampering or not). His defenses at Wisconsin were consistently excellent.

After the championship game, Cole Cubelic was on the SVP show. He told a story about the SECN broadcast team's pre-production meeting with Aranda that took place prior to the Northwestern game, which was the second game of the season after LSU had played Texas the week before and given up a lot of yards and points. As Cubelic told it, Aranda walked in to the meeting and said: "Fellas, we can't be what we thought we were going to be — I have to completely redesign this thing."
I’d say he did a helluva redesign job.

I bet Lincoln Riley was impressed last week with Aranda's defense

The thing about the 2019 defense was that they were very hit or miss, and hit hard by injuries — Fulton, Delpit, Lawrence and a few others were all hurt for pretty much the entire season. That first drive of the second half against Texas was a killer and ended up burning them for a weeks. I think it was nearly 20 plays, a few guys got hurt and once that happened things were pretty shaky.
The defense had one the highest in 3-and out percentage but gave up a lot chunk plays for touchdowns. However, as seen in the SECCG and the playoffs, once everybody started getting healthy again, they were pretty damn good.

Only thing I didn’t like was it seemed like his defenses didn’t force a lot of turnovers

nothing like finding problems with an undefeated national championship team. You must be miserable to be around if this is what you find fault with.

REALLY?!?!?!? He wasn’t? Stop the fricking presses.
Of course he wasn’t. What part of me saying his defenses were not 2003 and 2011 good makes you think I was suggesting he was here those year.
You might be the dumbest person on this board.
