Congrats to the pie challengers!

Submission Thread for the Pie Challenge

1. HoboDickCheese - Baked Crawfish Pies Topped with Lump Crab Meat and a Remoulade Sauce

2. Got Blaze - Smoked Softshell Crab Pie and Lemon Meringue Pie

3. Lambdatiger - Lambda’s Coconut Cream Pie

4. Darla Hood - Savory Eggplant Tart with Goat Cheese and Sun Dried Tomatoes

Thanks to those who participated, voted, and viewed!

I’m thinking maybe our next challenge should be in January, and we take a little Christmas break. Participation was low in this week before Thanksgiving, and I’m sure things will be hectic next month, as well. Opinions?

Hobo, please tell us our next challenge ingredient!

Make it 4 or 5 weeks?

I'll be experimenting in the kitchen over the holidays as well so Jan. Works 2

Agree. For me personally, it isn't so much the holidays as it is 3 weeks turnaround time sneaking up on me even when I say it won't.

Y’all throw out some ideas and I’ll pick one of them.

As far as the timing of the next challenge, I’m good with whatever you choose

A drink challenge would be a nice twist.

Plus you can try them out on yourself/relatives during the holidays.

I like the drink challenge idea but maybe narrow it down to one ingredient and let it be a cocktail or a mocktail (for those who don't drink alcohol)

I'm saving my excitingly versatile idea for next time I win, if I ever compete again and even try.

I dig these too. Pecans (or just "nuts" to be more broad) would be really fun too. A lot of cool stuff you can do with nuts.

Tomatoes, it is!

Before I set a date (four weeks would be Dec14), I’d like to hear from people who participate. Having done every single challenge, I can say I would welcome setting the challenges further apart. But this is also about the busyness of December for many.

How likely would you participate in December? January?

Dec 14 or Jan 11?

I’m leaving the day after thanksgiving to go see family for a couple weeks but could do my submission while visiting them. The week of Dec 14th will be hell for me at work, I already know. If you want to push it out I’ll gladly hold on to the title a little longer lol. I can make any date work though, it’s up to y’all
