Yes, Louisiana does have a large O&G economy, but it produces about 1/5 the number of barrels of oil that Oklahoma does.
Now do gas, and this isn’t even touching the offshore production that makes its way to Louisiana or the downstream aspect.

Exactly. LA is the LNG leader, printing billions a year. Soon we will export more LNG than Qatar

and i will tell you this, okie boy, no one will steal as much infrastructure money as we will, percentage or total amount. 20% or more of it is as good as gone baby. (lol)

At this point in time I am still predicting Riley to LSU. Woodward and Riley had an agreement late 2 nights ago. I don’t see it changing unless OU matches exactly or more then what LSU offering.
I’m pretty confident TBL is hearing the same at this time as well.
So we're figuring if LSU is at $12m, and OU went up from his $7m, then they're at $9-10m.
It's hard to believe that OU would lose him over $2-3m a year.
If he's still open to communication with OU (as you've implied) then that does not play in LSU's favor.
I'm just taking what you said, you don't see it changing unless LSU matches exactly. Well that shows you his preference when all things are equal. If he was favoring LSU matching wouldn't matter.

OK, Louisiana produces 9.5% of NG in the country and Oklahoma produces 7.6%.

LSU has made the last three coaches to come through. Name any other program that Les Miles or Ed Orgeron could win a National Championship. Saban wasn’t exactly on everyone’s radar before he came to BR. What y’all did with Riley? Cute. LSU will make him a National Champion.
People keep posting stuff like this like it’s a positive. And for a coach at a lesser school, it might be. But for a coach at OU, I think it’s a pretty big negative. Being the 1st coach at OU since 2000 to win an NC would seem a much more fulfilling accomplishment than “the 4th straight at LSU since 2003, a task so easy that the last 2 guys to do it were functional retards.” I just don’t think that’s a great selling point for a guy who’s been at OU for 7 seasons.
And if you think he doesn’t think he can win an NC at OU, is he really the kind of competitor you want at LSU? I would LOVE for it to be Riley. I’d be ecstatic. I just don’t think it makes any sense for him to leave. Now, if it were a coach for a completely different school and he had offers from both OU and LSU, then yeah, LSU wins out easy. I just don’t think we offer him enough to uproot his family and give up on what he’s building in Norman. I hope I’m wrong. But I really, really don’t think I am.

How much GOM production is refined in Oklahoma? How much LNG is exported from Oklahoma?

It’s more than HC salary.
It’s assistants pool.
It’s recruiting budget.
It’s facilities upgrade.
In addition to damn near 100M over 8 years.
He may not take the offer and OU has moved but not near our offer.
If he takes our offer. Great.
If not, NEXT.
It’s how it goes at this level. We can get a G5 at any point.
Riley is a legit top 5 coach. We are swinging. And haven’t missed yet.
Enjoy Woodward at the plate swinging.

Yeah of course it's all of that but that doesn't change my premise. OU is his preference or else this would be a done deal. They match, they get him.
If OU is his preference then they don't have any incentive to get this done before the 11th hour. They already have him as a coach and we don't.

Ya'll got more money than Quatar and couldn't pay enough to lure a coach from a Big-12 school? That's honestly wild to me.

This is how negotiations go.
Will OU get close enough. Perhaps and perhaps they already have.
Riley is sought after one. We can give a deadline and I’m sure we will if we haven’t already.
But your premise is faulty. Just because he didn’t jump on the offer the moment we made it doesn’t mean he’s out.
A lot of guys in this situation indeed give the current employer time to meet another offer.
We are not talking about moving from USL to LSU. Both OU and LSU are top 5 gigs.
He may ultimately say no. He may have already said no. But simply bcs he didn’t say yes on the initial offer doesn’t mean he is leaning to staying there.

It's cute that you think this is over.

Everyone keeps forgetting the trump card OU has in the bag though. I honestly have no idea if it got pulled out (Don't know how far negotiations were from LSU perspective, nor am I anywhere close to in the know if it had to be brought up) but I heard if needed Castiglone has a bullet in the chamber LSU couldn't touch.

Not necessarily. Uprooting your family and moving is a big decision. I do believe LSU is a better job than OU but not by a wide enough margin that it's a no brainer.
It's entirely possibly he thinks he'd prefer LSU, but wants to get both scenarios completely laid out so he can make the most informed decision.

You're going to have to help me out here. What exactly is the trump card? Baton Rouge also had children's hospitals and other such facilities.

OU boosters have a lot more money than LSU boosters. The price of oil is high and they aren’t scared to throw money around. If OU wants to keep riley they will. He’s not going anywhere
