So I see alot of people balking at the money....

A) we will be getting something close to 20 million more under the new TV contract

B) we dont spend on football compared to Bama

We have started spending a lot more since we got rid of tight arse Joe but still lagging behind our rivals and where we want to be.

We have the money, its not your money and we need to spend to win championships. STFU about the money unless you are screaming to spend more. I love Napier but if there is any chance at all you can get Riley or Aranda, you spend the money to do it, dont care if it cost 3x as much, you do it.

compare the schools, we can not expect to spend lower half of the conference money on football and expect to finish in the top of the conference, just cant do it.

2017, 2018, 2019 Spending

note we spend way way less than UGA and Bama.

on the recruiting side we spend way less also. we ar 9th in recruiting spending and UGA/Bama are #1 & #2. A&M is 5. there is a reason they are passing us, they are all fricking in. They are literally spending twice as much as us on recruiting. If we dont start spending, we will end up like UF.

IMO this offer to Riley....means we are all in BAMA and UGA level in.

recruiting spending

We have to catch up & continue to push the envelope on facilities!!!

LSU doesn't have to recruit nationally like most schools. LSU can win the national championship by keeping LA kids in state & cherry picking Texas

no we cant. go look at 2019. only like 11 of 22 were from LA.

on offense you have the WRs, RBs & 2 OL- 6 total

on defense only 5.

stop saying that we dont have to spend to recruit. thats why we are getting passed by bama and uga.

Can half your team be from LA...sure and thats max, but not close to all.

they prolly get one this year, even if not....2 good years with one of those being amaziing doesnt mean we havent been passed.

keep making excuses though and worrying about money and we will fall further behind.

What the frick does this have to do with anything? Money spent clearly doesn’t equal Championships won.

you sure about that? outside of us 1 year.....who else has won in last 5-6 years....2 schools clemson and bama....they both out spend us big time.

so yea it does mean championships. anyone that says otherwise is living a decade behind.

The state of Tennessee doesn't produce much talent. They have to recruit nationally, which is expensive.

Alabama and Georgia spent $0 in 2017??? Didn’t even pay the light bill at the stadium?

I don't care about the amount of money spent, but I am concerned with the length of the contract. I don't want us to give some ridiculous decade long contract because regardless of who gets the job, they may just crap out. If that happens on a long term deal with an extremely high salary, we're stuck.

If it's a 5 year deal for $12 million, I am fine with that. No worries. If it's 10 year deal, I'd pass. I'm not all that comfortable with 8 years.
