A few times last night the announcers said that Peetz doesn’t call 3rd down and passing plays. Is that accurate?

He shouldn’t be calling any plays

Absolutely but O hired a $1.2M Coordinator that can’t call half of the plays. No wonder there’s zero continuity and underdeveloped QBs.

Because that’s what Brady did when he was here. So in O’s mind that will make this more like Brady’s offense that was Ensminger’s back then but now it’s Brady’s. Don’t try to make sense of O’s logic

I don’t hate the idea of a separate analyst/coach…whatever, for those situations. Analytics is a lot for any one coach to handle. Same as proper clock management. Which no one handled well either.

That statement was proof he was not ready to be an OC.

I don’t mind an analytics guy doing the ground work during the week and advising the OC on best plays to run based on the analytics, but we’re talking about two coaches who clearly aren’t on the same page which completely screws up everything from preparation, to play calling, to timing, etc.. No wonder we’ve regressed…

Heard the same thing and it's very confusing to me that you hire an OC who doesn't call the game. Isn't that what he's supposed to do? Again, just another reason why O lost his job.

I hate it. It's dumb. That's where a draw on 3rd & 7 comes from. They're both idiots.

In 2019, E and Brady shared playcalling duties, with Brady calling the third down passing plays and E calling the rest (allegedly).

Because it worked in 2019 and because Ed is a fricking idiot, he thought the same system could work now, even with unqualified coaches in the booth calling plays.

This is typical of Ed. He has no plan or vision. He just knows that if something worked in the past, he can just pull the same success out of his arse without really understand what had previously worked or why.

I guess that would explain why LSU never seems to 'set up' a play that would look like a previous play. I guess that would be just too advanced for this group.

That’s not exactly what Brady did, the announcers said that so O wouldn’t look like more of an arse. We have video from the playoffs of what took place with Brady and Ensminger. Brady would pass along what he thought should be called and Ensminger would choose one. Brady was also on the headset with Joe and whatever wasn’t called would be available as the checks. Not at all the clusterfricked system we’re using now.

O should have fired Peet’s immediately after the Wildcat play, we had a chance until that dumb fricking call

The comment made that Brady called 3rd downs in 2019 is also completely untrue. Slinger called plays and Brady would have a 3rd down option ready to which Slinger could use, modify or use his own play. Truth is, both guys worked to perfection together in 2019. BTW, if Slinger stays we are 7-3, 8-2.

I would just tell them to let me go on the spot, because if I am going to get blamed for the bad offense, it will be me calling all the plays. But, I guess the guy is taking the check knowing he does not have a job next year and his next interview when people ask him about his bad offense, he response will be Ed O was the coach and was controlling me.
