Nice detail about what was said. It feels like I was right there with them.

Aranda totally has reinvented the winning at Baylor and is loved by his players.

Bohannon can't hit the broadside of a barn with a football and we're supposed to get chill bumps over him being recruited?

His recruiting is still really bad. I love Aranda and I wouldn't be upset about him being hire, but his poor recruiting ability is not up for debate. With Aranda, you have to rely on him developing 3-stars into great players. That's not a huge deal as a coordinator, but a head coach needs to be a great recruiter.

Listen to Smith (who Aranda moved from LB to winning RB with four straight 100 yard games).

This is hyperbolic and untrue.

He’s not an elite recruiter but it’s definitely not really bad. That’s so dumb.

100% accurate. It's fair to be concerned about Aranda ever recruiting at Saban, Jimbo or Smart levels, but these people saying he's terrible are out of their minds.

His recruiting at Baylor has been on par with what Rhule and Briles did and I don't see anyone not wanting Rhule because he can't recruit.

This. It all goes back to some comments in the past about recruiting being his least favorite thing about the job. Just because he doesn’t love it doesn’t mean he can’t do it. This is just people building an entire narrative out of something without complete or current context.

Do you love everything about your job? I like my work and position, but there are still aspects of it I don’t enjoy. You know what- I still do these things, and with plenty of effort and at a high level, because the are NECESSARY for success. Do you think someone as smart and successful as Dave Aranda wouldn’t understand this?

His recruiting at Baylor is not even in the same ballpark as the talent that Briles brought or was bringing to Baylor.

I like Aranda as a coach, but there are serious concerns/questions about his recruiting ability.

In 3 classes(including the 2022 class) Aranda has yet to bring in a Texas Top 40 recruit. He has yet to win a recruiting battle against OU, aTm or Texass or LSU or Ohio State or etc., while Briles won recruiting battles for Top 10 players in the State of Texas. Big Difference.
