The only Golfing venue in the South you’ll need rubber boots to visit between March and May.

Probably both will do well
It was before Covid but you still had to wait at Top Golf

A new golfing venue is moving into the Baton Rouge market—and is developing its high-tech driving range just two miles from the Topgolf location on North Mall Drive that will be its direct competitor.
GolfSuites, a Florida-based company that was founded in 2016 and currently has one location in Oklahoma and a second planned for Texas, has leased the nearly 17-acre site on Siegen Lane that, until the 2016 flood, was the Caddyshack Driving Range.
Real estate broker Mark Hebert, who represented the landlord in the transaction, says GolfSuites was attracted to the site, despite its propensity to flood, because of the overwhelming success of Topgolf, which opened in early 2019.
“They know how well Topgolf has done here and they came here to see this location,” Hebert says.
Read on for more on the planned golf attraction in a story that originally appeared in the Feb. 18 edition of Daily Report. To keep up with Baton Rouge business and politics, subscribe to the free Daily Report e-newsletter here.

I have no doubt they'll do well because Top Golf stays busy but how do you invest in that area knowing it's going to be underwater every few years?

Passed by there last night. It looks like the market can comfortably support two facilities

Another Top Golf type of development.
Actually should be nice. The wait at Top Golf is insane sometimes.

It’s crazy for anything of substance to be there

Top Golf's biggest regret is probably that they didn't build twice as many bays as it did in Baton Rouge. The market can clearly support more of what they are providing.

I imagine the actual driving range part of this can probably survive a little water, right? The bays and restaurant obviously have to be built up a bit.
I can't believe those apartments right there still exist. They've flooded every 5-6 years for as long as I can remember.

It's a Top-Golf knockoff.
Instead of building it in a flood zone, they should buy those seedy hotels next to I-10 and build it there instead.

Honestly I would love a place that was a regular range with a bar and TVs at the bar. Buy a bucket of beers and you get a complimentary small bucket of balls.

Remember when the OT experts knew that Baton Rouge wouldn't get a Top Golf. When they were proven wrong, they insisted that Top Golf would go out of business because the area couldn't support it.
They said Main Event and Top Golf would never make it in Baton Rouge.
Both would be run off by culcha IIRC.
My kids love Main Event and it's always busy.
Oh and Top Golf is thriving BIG TIME.
The OT is full of stupid.

What’s Main Event like? For kids?
Always looking for new date night things but prefer not a bunch of kiddos. I’m unfamiliar with that place.
