Getting Owens Corning Duration Roof Shingles?

My contractor is telling me he cannot find OC Duration anywhere, except Lowes which is 2 months behind at least.
He tried to switch me to GAF, but we chose the Duratiom line after a lot of research.
He said I should call around.
Any thoughts of where to call?

Use to sell shingles.
OC duration is a decent shingle.
This is back in 2006 or 2007 OC brought duration out to be a step up from the other 30yrs.
GAF at one time was considered a grade better even after they bought ELK around 2006.
Over the years they all had issues.
Atlas - had roof rusting. What caused this the magnet should have got the metal away from the tires when shredded did not. The rubber and metal got mixed in the batch.
OC- has granules come off some batches of their 3 tabs 20 and 25 yr.
GAF and Certainteed had a few issues here and there also. They have always been considered good shingles.
Tamko and IKO at one time were considered cheaper shingles.
At the end of the day they all work until the next storm comes.
Just don’t mix different batches or shingles from different plants.
If you have any amount of shingles over 30 squares you better have a good trailer and an F350.
I stacked 200 squares at my hardware store before my fathers birthday as the plant had a bad batch of pallets. Huge mistake I felt it the rest of the night at the party. It is a lot of weight.

I can get hands on Atlas Pinnacle Pristine all day. My only experience with OC was terrible. Approved warranty replacement then told the homeowner all they were paying for were the shingles. No felt, nails, labor. Nothing

Yea I’m rolling with Atlas Pinnacle over GAF and IKO.

Call Owens direct and ask ...They can direct you to a local supplier who may actually have the shingles in stock or can special order them from the factory.
I had a neighbor step on Pella Storm doors and break a latch set. One call to Pella ....parts sent free ..
Had a sub contractor tear up a toilet lid in the master bath. GC tried to get a replacement at Home Depot ...one call to Kohler and they sent two seats at no charge.
Customer service at the big guys understand you are the reason they exist. Not so with the dealer or local supplier ..

I gave OC a call about 6 weeks ago with the same issue and they told me that any contractor who says that they can't get Duration shingles is totally full of b.s.
The trouble is that the supply houses can't be bothered, because they've only got so much space and trucks, and it's much easier to fill everything up with shingles that makes everything simpler. At the same time, most people getting a roof don't care much about the brand/type, or even what color, as long as it's black, brown or grey.
So be assured that you can get them, they are not out of stock at all. It's just a matter of possibly having to get them from another city, unfortunately. In my case, I had to have them come from the ABC supply house in Houston to the ABC down here.

I’ve bought those with the scotch guard anti-algae stuff on two different houses and love it. First house was changed in 2014 and passing thr north side even today it looks brand new.

Just in case this may help, I drove by a billboard today from some place called Hahn Roofing, and one of their little bullet points was
OC DURATION SHINGLES IN STOCK
So it might be worth it to give them a shout.

Who’d you get them from? I need 8 squares for my outdoor kitchen and would like to match what’s already on the house.
