LSU is a Top 3 Job

Certain LSU fans need to understand what this job opening is and stop underselling.
The LSU is a top 3 job in college football.
No coach, not ever Saban, has ever scratched the surface of its potential. It might be the most unique job in all of college sports.
The state produces a tremendous amount of NFL talent, yet there is no in state competition for recruiting.
The facilities are state of the art and fundraising will keep it going in that direction.
The stadium is the best experience in all of college sports. College football fans will tell you that there is no better destination. I heard this just the other day from a guy at the airport in New York.
Oklahoma is a good job. But, it’s not LSU. The state of Oklahoma hasn’t produced a skill position player since 2012(Sterling Shepherd.)
Riley will constantly have to leave the state to get players. He has taken advantage of USC, Florida State, Miami and Texas being down. That won’t last forever.
If LSU calls, especially when it is run by a guy with the reputation of Scott Woodward, you don’t leverage this job to keep your worse job, you listen and move if it means more success for your legacy.
Lincoln Riley isn’t from Oklahoma, he took a job and they promoted him. If he chooses to stay, cool, but he isn’t talking to LSU to get a raise or play a game. He is talking to LSU because it’s LSU.

He’s, in a vacuum. Ive used the analogy that if there were a Harvard School for Head College Football Coaches, and the top graduate this year got to pick. Of course he’d choose LSU over USC or OU. But life doesn’t happen in a vacuum like that.
1) any coach you deem worthy is already at a good school competing for championships. Otherwise, you wouldn’t deem them worthy.
2) Timing matters SO much more than y’all realize.
3) quality of life does matter for most of these men with wives and children who have likely developed significant ties, friends, and all kinds of relationships where they’re at. 4)
Job security matters. You may not think it does, but it does. Especially to the families who will have to uproot their entire lives to go to a new place to do the same thing all over again.when you have as much money as Riley already does at 38, and LSU offers you $12 million per and OU counters with $10? When you’re making that much is that extra $2 million worth the hassle? Or the risk? Not only that he might not like the schools, the neighborhood, the food, the golf courses, the not having to deal with devastating hurricanes every year years. Especially when we just proved we will unceremoniously shite can the HC of the greatest CFB team of all time a mere 18:months after hosostimg the trophy. And it’s not just him. He’d be asking a lot of his assistants with a lot less money, and a lot less cache to land another gig at that level.
5) How celebrated he be if he’s just the 4th straight coach to win a NC at LSU. One of y’all’s biggest selling points is the 2 did it, and they were functioning retards. I’m not sure that’s a great sell.
I want Riley. Would absolutely be over the moon ecstatic if he winds up here. But besides

Then why did we settle for O 5 years ago? Where were all the great coaches that dream of this job?

Greatest season in college football history.

The irony of a faggie fans calling another fanbase delusional. The kings of “next year is our year”
Jackoffs haven’t won shite, can only dream of LSU’s success. We live rent free in your head son.
A fanbase with a National Championship trophy without a year on it in its trophy case calling another fanbase delusional is funny as hell

And we would know since that’s where Bama is with us.

While I’d probably agree previous coaches hirings would suggest it’s not.
Conversely A&M has hired a sitting head coach from Alabama and Florida state just in the last 20 years. I can’t think of any other school that’s been able to pull a coach from what would have been perceived as a top 10 job. Maybe when USC pulled kiffen from Tennessee?

I 100% agree; it does. But it also works both ways. If Riley were to go 0-4, or 0-5 in the playoffs, there will be grumblings in Norman. OU hasn't won a NC since 2000, how much longer do they give Riley?
Stoops went 11-2 in his last two season, 0-1 if the CFP. OU didn't go out of their way to stop his retirement. He was definitely on the hotseat after 8-5 the year before.

There are probably 10-15 other schools which are also top 3 jobs in college football, Oklahoma being one of them. NOt to mention he has a great freshman QB there right now and also has job security at Oklahoma, which he wouldn't necessarily have at LSU. Also while you may think BR is a great place to live, most people do not.

I don't understand how people even need to ask this.
They had a joke of an AD that got his feelings hurt by one guy and hired O out of emotion.

Oklahoma is traditionally an elite program going back to the days of Bud Wilkinson. I would not say that it is an inferior program.
Lots of talent in Texas traditionally go for Oklahoma over Texas and have been for 70 years. You could say that it is the top Texas program.

But even with a joke of an AD the applicants lined up must have been a whose who and even a terrible AD would have picked out of a hat a better name than coach O.

Both of thse teams were hot garbage when you hired them. Jimbo lit FSU on fire and walked out the door.
It would be like hiring the head coach of Miami followed up by Ed O ths year.

I think most educated people know this. The thing that makes lsu so different than most is that there truly is no ceiling here. Sure, we have had alot of success, but i am sure that lsu hasnt reached its full potential as a program. Lsu could do what bama has done under saban with the right coach and theres no question about it. We havent even come close to seeing the glory days of lsu football yet. I do believe theyre coming though...soon.

For the record I do agree LSU is a top job, they just haven’t hired coaches like they are, although les miles and saban were obviously very solid up and coming hires.

The real top tier talent stayed away from LSU in 2016. The way Miles was dumped 1/3 of the way gave many reason for pause. It felt to many that the AD would not have their back if problems arose.

Also Jackie Sherrill before that.
Had FSU simply invested in facilities, Jimbo would still be there.
Coaches leave for a myriad of reasons... most often for incrased pay/ better opportunity.
