Looks like they just outgrew Class B.

They aren’t listed as playing 1A or 2A ball this season, even as a JV only transitional program.

District 9-1A: Cohen,

You want to know something crazy?

Cohen in 2022 will be maybe the first football school in the state that can say they’ve been in every single class just since 2000.

John Curtis can’t say that, they haven’t been 1A. Evangel hasn’t been 3A since 1998. Lafayette Christian will skip 3A. Hannan hasn’t been 5A yet.

Cohen was once 4A in the John Curtis district, then played up to 5A for one cycle around 2003 to get away from Curtis

Then the hurricane hit, they were 3A for a while, and now have dropped twice

You talk about a stacked baseball district, with the 3 AP schools, and 3 LP schools. All of them have a pretty rich baseball tradition, with Live Oak having a huge jump in talent as of late. Walker has had a good baseball program the last few years. Seems like Denham has gone down, but they can easily be back to where they were before the downfall.

St. Amant is back, Dutchtown is good, and EA is getting back to where they were before. That would be a really fun baseball district. Current 5-5A district is only 4 deep for baseball.

They should definitely do a Metro BR district for all sports. Just doesn’t make sense for it to not be that way. Why split up BR when they’re all right down the road from each other, especially Catholic, Scotlandville, Woodlawn, and Liberty. It just makes the most sense. I think Catholic just thinks this current district is easier for them, and they’d prefer it to be that way.

EA played Scotlandville and Brother Martin in non-district, and they had games vs. Zachary and Destrehan canceled. Last year when they lost an opponent to COVID, they drove to Shreveport to play Byrd with no return game. They're obviously not afraid of anybody.

As for Dutchtown and STA, they're trading a certain win vs. McKinley for a certain loss vs. Catholic, and the rest of the district is a crapshoot. There might not be any Catholics in Livingston, but there aren't any McKinleys either.

Blasphemy! Keep Catholic-Pointe Coupee in 5-1A and let St. Ed's go out to 6-1A with their tales between their legs like they have been asking for.

There's about a half dozen sports that have their own districts, such as volleyball.

District 1-3A: Bastrop, Carroll, North Webster, Richwood, Sterlington, Union Parish, Wossman.
An already tough 3A district adds Bastrop and North Webster.

If they want to tweak something, give the private schools 3 divisions instead of 4.

I agree. Might as well go with 4 divisions in non-select too. Eight teams in 1A get a bye now.

That is very interesting.

I suspect that Cohen's enrollment will rise after construction of its new state-of-the-art campus is complete.

Final district alignments for 2022-2024 was posted, minus 4A

Looks like the proposed EBR 4-5A district and AP/LP 5-5A metro district was approved

Will say that the AP and LP district makes a little sense geographically… it’s just that there was no real need to change the North BR/South BR aligned districts

And 5A… drops McKinley, Riverdale, Higgins, and Shaw… picks up Carencro, Liberty Magnet, and Karr

I heard a couple weeks ago that 2 schools made an appeal and that’s the hold up with 4A. I could be wrong and if I am, someone please correct

Kinder moving up to 3A and Grandlake to 2A made it harder to set that district. Rosepine and Pickering used to be in that district back in my day. Heck Many was in that district when rosepine fell to 1A in late 90s.
