I see why people leave Louisiana

I'm around Denver/Boulder right now, first time I've visited here. You can immediately tell that CO is the skinniest state in the country. There are more people running, hiking, biking than there are people on mobility scooters with their genetics in tow. The trees are fall colors. The air is cool, crisp, and since California isn't ablaze right now, clean. There are weirdos and crazy homeless people of course, but is it really any worse than dealing with the incompetence, danger, and politics of New Orleans?
If I didn't have family and a career in SELA, I'd pack up and move somewhere like this without a second thought.

Denver is pretty meh to me and very expensive but some of the surrounding areas are pretty awesome.

To be fair, even though Denver isn't great it is >>>>> NOla

It’s a sign when you visit any other place and think “I want to move here”.

it's kind of taken a nose dive though, lots more homeless, more crime and general seediness

While Colorado has the lowest obesity rate in the nation, it's something like 23% to Louisiana's 36%.
Two thirds the fatties of Louisiana still equals a lot of fatties.

New Orleans is way more restricted covid wise than Denver. I was in Denver a month ago and never had to wear a mask or show a vaccine card.

Denver is a shithole. Boulder is the most liberal place I've ever been to.

Trying to think of the main differences between the denver and Nola populations

I lived in Georgia for a few years and loved it. We recently went to a wedding in Tenn and it was stunning. LA is flat and boring.

The entire Mississippi corridor south of Saint Louis just needs to get swept into the Gulf.

Louisiana whites and Colorado whites have about the same 12% spread in obesity as Louisiana blacks and Colorado blacks do.
So blacks tend to be more obese, but Louisianans do too.

Lol. Where do you live? I can understand someone not liking Denver due to certain social / political reasons but it’s definitely not a shithole. And yeah, Boulder is pretty liberal, but again - I was just there and was never asked to show a vaccine card or wear a mask. Louisiana is and has been way more restricted than both places.

I can tell it isn't the GOAT city by any means, but I'd be lying if I told you it wasn't a different level compared to BR/NO. I passed by a dude wearing a blanket as a cape and talking to himself while he pushed a buggy, but not once have I felt like I could be carjacked in the CBD.
Like someone said above, it's expensive around here. That's what would take some getting used to; it's not a cheap area to live compared to Louisiana. But with every day that passes I think to myself it might be worth it...
