#Bucs LB Devin White was fined twice — for the horse collar tackle that left #Saints QB Jameis Winston with a torn ACL last week, as well as roughing the passer and taunting on separate plays.

That's why I don't understand pulling for LSU player's in the NFL. They're now the enemy unless they're a Saint. At one time the played for the state, now they're trying to defeat my home state

He's a dirty player, even if LSU fans can't get their mouth off his dick.

His hand is no where near the collar. The jersey is not moving even a tad down from his neck. The player is grabbing the letter "N"

Maybe a rule should be you can't touch the players name on the jersey then.

Horse collar isn’t just the collar. It’s also if you grab the nameplate which he clearly did.

Straight from the NFL rules website.

quote:

No player shall grab the inside collar of the back or the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, or grab the jersey at the name plate or above, and pull the runner toward the ground. This does not apply to a runner who is in the tackle box or to a quarterback who is in the pocket.

I popped the link in. Originally it was just the collar. A few years ago they added the nameplate to it. But what happened to Jameis is why they added the nameplate. It makes sense because some of the injuries from horse collar or similar tackles have been bad.

Seems any grab on the back of the jersey could have caused that injury.

You may want to familiarize yourself with the rule. Bringing a player down by the name plate has been part of the “horse collar” rule for a few years

a player's name plate has been part of the horse collar rule since the start of the 2017 season

some people need to catch up to 4 years ago

A horse collar is grabbing the jersey ANYWHERE near the nameplate area and pulling back.

White CLEARLY was grabbing the nameplate area on Winston. It was dirty as frick, dangerous, and the exact reason why it isn't allowed. It ends seasons and can end careers.

Dirty fricking play by a dirty fricking player.

Edit:
Props to tigersquad for finding the link to the rule. Horsecollar in NOT just the neck.

Come on goat not you too. It's literally in the rule that you can't grab the name plate area.

Call it something else like... grabbing the back of the jersey!
