It seems with Chris Petersen's relationship with Woodward he would be top of the list. He is a clean hire and turned around Washington after his success at Boise. His offense was legendary. I can see not everyone loving his lack of SEC experience but seems he should be on the list.

What makes Peterson a slam dunk?

I’m confident he is being contacted by Scotty. They had a great relationship here in Seattle! It will be even harder to get him this time around for Scotty than when he did at Udub.

Probably because after living basically all of his life in the NW he is not interested in moving down here. Not realistic nor should be it.

Because that is how AD S.W. wants it!

It’s funny that some people would prefer Chris Petersen over Lincoln Riley and that’s laughable.

Dude would be in the hospital first LSU game from a stress induced heart attack. He ain't coming here.

The dude retired because he did not like the stress and work-life balance sacrifices the Job required. You think that's gonna be any easier here than at Washington? Washington HC job is a vacation compared to the LSU job.

I thought it was because he has a medically challenged child with some rare condition that only like 3 doctors in the country deal with?

And they probably are not in BR if that’s correct.

That was like 20 years ago. He is youngest boy had a brain tumor but has recovered. It is why he stayed at Boise St. for so long though. Both of his kids of are in their 20's now.

I just don't see Petersen moving from the NW down to BTR. He has lived his whole life in NoCA and the NW. But, I said the same about Jay Johnson also.

I was big on the Petersen train a few days ago but with no current contract to dance around I don't see what the hold up would be. I hate it but CP seems unlikelier by the day.

Scott is sneaky good at hiring. I'm assuming he's had talks with Petersen for some time. Maybe Petersen is ready for something new and exciting. A challenge, even. Only Scott and Petersen would know for sure. It's a longshot, maybe. But maybe not.

Hypothetically how would that work if it was Petersen? Woodward agreed to let O finish out the season so bringing in Petersen now might turn this circus on its head. However if Petersen stayed put for now he would have time to reach out and set up his coaching staff so the second after the season ended he could be announced and hit the ground running for early signing day.

For me, outside of Riley and Fickell, who I don’t think is coming, Petersen would be my choice.
Riley
Fickell

Peterson turned down multiple top 10 job offers, including USC, only to eventually seek the Washington job because it was a low profile program in a northwest NFL town where he would be left alone. I can't possibly think of a worse fit for him than LSU, especially considering he retired from Washington due to "anxiety and stress."
