Wish more rich parents had that mentality.

I always liked his quote when someone asked him what it's like to be wealthy:
"I'm not wealthy, I'm rich. The guy that signs my check is wealthy."
ETA: That was back when he was still playing. I think he's in the "wealthy" realm now.

We have prenups for this issue in marriage. Why don't we have predels?

too many spoiled dickheads in this country, mostly the millennials and older gen z, that are relying on mommy and daddy's money to survive and don't give a shite about forming their own path to success

Shaq is well diversified and owns a bunch of businesses. I'd say a net worth of 400 million is wealthy. He is just being modest.
Definitely a good mind set to motivate his kids tho.

I read somewhere once that he only spent contract money the first couple seasons. After that, he was living off investments and endorsements. That may have changed after his divorce, but by then he didn't have to worry about money.

Shaq knows what Bill Cosby knows. (He said that in one episode). They are correct.

I thought blacks didn't have an equal chance to be successful.

My daughter (no pics) once asked if we were poor. I replied, no, we're not poor, you're poor. Oh the look on her face.

The difference between giving a man a fish and teaching a man to fish.

This reminds me of an episode of "My Wife and Kids " I happened to see years ago where the son was trying to get his dad to give him some money for something. He said "come on dad, we got money " and the dad replied "no, I got money. You're broke ".

I'm so proud to have Shaq as an LSU Alum.

Agreed, but it took that generation to set those expectations
