Narrative that "LSU just doesn't seem to have the talent"

Calling B.S. on that one. Lost 3 ALL-AMERICANS so far this season and our most experienced QB in waiting for 2021 season and we're still rolling along - even though the road has had its ups and downs. ANYONE who has watched LSU play live (4 games at home) has seen the talent on the field. I sense some relief from the team now that they know CEO is gone and they know they can run the football on offense. Defensively everyone has got to trust their reads. Mis-direction is killing us! Assistant coaches even seem to be getting better. Being competitive in the SEC West is what it's all about. I predict we play our best game of the year in Oxford this weekend. Stars are aligning nicely for a finishing kick to end this season. We still have elite talent. One game at a time. NEXT!

it is a pretty sad take.
even with attrition and injuries we're still one of the top 10 or so talented teams.
like, who the fuk are we playing every week with more talent?
other schools have the same issue.

I've heard numerous stories with the theme, "what's wrong with LSU" since the UCLA game this year from ALL the talking heads in the sports world...
Not only have I NOT heard the narrative you suggested, that "LSU doesn't seem to have the talent," I've actually heard from nearly all that LSU DOES have the talent....
Where did you hear this?

Only narrative I’ve seen is they lack chest, not talent.

This isn't a thing.

The narrative is our coaching staff has squandered the talent of top 5 recruiting classes

The narrative definitely exists that the "talent" they recruited on signing day and with transfers is not producing what it should have or even contributing.
You can't recruit 4 and 5 star guys that transfer, are ineligible, get injured, don't play and can't win a starting or backup job and say how talented your team is. You have to take the talent you get, develop it, get and then keep those players on the field constantly improving. LSU hasn't done that the last two seasons.
Talent has declared and left, been dismissed, under performed, opted out, been injured, etc etc etc.
The team is not as talented as some thought it was, and maybe should have been.
How much of that is on the kids for not working hard, don't know.
How much of that is on the coaches for not developing, don't know.
How much of that is on the staff for bad evaluations, don't know.
What I do know is, the 4 and 5 star kids LSU has recruited are not the 4 and 5 star kids teams like UGA and Bama have recruited. More of those kids on those rosters are playing, contributing and developing.
Thats the narrative and it's accurate.
Doesn't mean they arent talented...it just means they aren't as talented as they probably should be and people thought they would be.

So.....once again....Coaching. Got it.
That's why the move has been made.

Absolutely a piece but these kids have to carry alot of the responsibility too.
O wasn't failing classes for Emery
O isnt force feeding Kardell Thomas pancakes
O didnt twist Boutte's knee
O didnt set the weed policy causing the dismissal Rosenthal
O didnt break Brennans foot OR tear his rib cartelidge
I mean, it doesnt really matter who's fault it is...the damage is done, corrections have been made but the reality is what it is. The team isn't as talented as it was thought it could have and probably should have been.
They should have elite SEC talent on the field this weekend and they won't.

Charles Hannagriff (Hanny podcast) said that LSU only had 1 five star player that played versus UF, Sage Ryan. And that was Ryan's first start.

That is a bullshite statement. Go look at how many past and present players have called BS on the GF's at practice story or shown other support from afar.
Same thing happened last year, the prima donnas all laid down and got off the field and the ones that want to play started showing out some.

LSU would be undefeated with a decent coaching staff

Losing badly to UCLA, losing to Auburnt and getting blown out by UK is rolling along? I will have to re-think my view about what constitutes "rolling along"?
Jiminy Cricket...

This. I thought that Miles was awful at developing players, but Orgeron makes him look like the greatest coach at developing players in the history of the game.

We're actually a little light on speed. We have no one like the Bama burners from the past few years - i.e. Waddle, Ruggs, Jeudy, #1 there now. We may have a couple, but they don't get the ball.
