Italy didn’t have bad soldiers so much as they had bad leadership. The times that they were led properly the soldiers showed showed courage and bravery etc. It was the officers that drug them down.

Just FYI.. The Louisiana maneuvers were actually a test of the USA to see exactly the condition of the US Army and showed huge flaws.
Around that time somewhere, the structure of army organization changed.
It was after Stalingrad that the German Army began conscripting everything left in the country.
