I know he hasn't done it long but the man is detail oriented and focused. Professional knows the area and will recruit it well. Hasn't been gone long so high school defensive players know him and know what he will do for their careers. Knows how to hire offensive coordinators (see Grimes at Baylor) as he can recognize what offense gives him fits. Let's be honest after miles left up until 2018 when Burrow arrived he held the team together as our defense saved us on so many games and helped us keep our record high. He would keep Corey Raymond as I'm sure they have a great relationship. It also appears that he is content in staying in college. So with success he could be here a long time as he is still young. It just makes too much sense.

Aranda just gives me Saban vibes. I think we definitely should get an interview.

Aranda would be the safe hire as far as hiring someone who won't screw it up and make you look bad. Back the truck up

The more I think about it the more I want it to be him. I mean with title 9 you couldn't ask for a better candidate. If he is clean enough for Baylor he has to be good enough for LSU also and I could care less about this but he checks the minority box for those that want that criteria. I truly believe he is the best option.

Dave with who as OC? Would Grimes get the Baylor HC job?

But that's the thing captain that I believe sets Dave apart from what ended O. Dave knows what a great offense looks like because he has to scheme against them. I trust him to make another great OC hire if Grimes were to take Baylor.

Whoever the next coach is needs to be a “one side of the ball” guru IMO. CEO type coaches just rely too much on keeping coordinators.

Agree. Saban was a defensive genius before he was an ace recruiter.

I'm not against an Aranda hire. He would have a fundamentally strong defense year in and year out.

Aranda as head coach and maybe Freeze or Herman as offensive coordinators. I bring up the last two only because they would probably like the chance to get back into big time college football again. Other options Briles at Arkansas.

Aranda HC/DC .... keep Peetz and get Briles as co OC and you ready to play ball.

Here’s the problem. LSU isn’t known for that in hiring football coaches. If Woodward succeeds it won’t be a gamble, but it’ll be a first!

Peez can stay only as an analyst or if he finishes the season lighting it up like he did against Florida.

Coach Aranda would be a solid choice and a great long term hire in my opinion. Defense would become consistently top tier, Coach Raymond likely would be considered for an asst. head coach position. Offense would be highly dependent on his staff hires.

Peetz is a goner.

Briles isn’t going anywhere to be co-OC. Hell he might get a HC job very soon.

Aranda is one of the best defensive football minds out there. Would love him for the job.

Baby Briles would be a really good play caller.

Aranda is definitely the choice.
If we want to be lead by defense.
