So, what happens if the LSU football team wins out?

Goes “Major League” and wins the whole f’ing thing?
If they miraculously win all remaining games on their schedule they could end up being tied for 1st with several teams in the sec west. What if the crazy tie breaker puts LSU in Atlanta? What if Georgia plays their worst game ever and loses?
I fully realize that this has a 1 in a billion chance. However, would this change anything?

I don’t understand the big advantage to announce the change to Ed and the world mid-season. Can you ethically talk to current coaches during their season? Why not make the announcement the week of the Texas A&M game?
This will be a big distraction for the remainder of the season….for players and coaching staff.

It works out great for LSU by announcing now. LSU won’t talk to any coaches during the season, however, they can and will talk to all of the coaches’ agents. LSU will have their guy signed sealed and delivered 2 or 3 days after that coach’s season is over.

Wrong. It was already a huge distraction. Outlining a clear path forward and make a deal to minimize bitterness and conflict was the absolute right thing to do.
In contrast as in 2015. Miles wins a big game at the end of the year. Aleeva pussies out of making a change everyone knew had to be made and instead we end up in a mid season ugly deal anyway.

If were talking about crazy hypotheticals that aren't gonna happen, then Auburn is just as likely to win out & a 9-3 LSU team will finish 2nd in the SEC West.
