Surprise, surprise she is an Obama appointee. I wonder what she thought of the Kavanaugh insurrectionists?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A federal judge in Washington has repeatedly sentenced people who stormed the U.S. Capitol to more prison time than prosecutors sought, saying that even people who were not violent should face consequences for joining the unprecedented assault.

In the past week, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has imposed sentences ranging from 14 to 45 days on four people who pleaded guilty to unlawful parading and picketing inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6 — a misdemeanor offense.

"There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home," Chutkan said at one of the hearings.

I would say what should happen to her, but I don't feel like dealing with the Marshal's Service.

Yeah, doesn't sound like they were violently overthrowing the government.

Although, I would not have a problem if they did.

Legislate from the bench much?

Judge needs to do her job, not the lawmakers’ job. This is why there’s separation of powers.

Yes, we must punish these uninvited Capitol building tourists who were inspired by FBI plants to enter the Capitol building.

Meanwhile Seattle and several other large cities across America were looted, burned and occupied by BLM/Antifa in the 2020 Summer of Love.

Why do libs say punitive justice is wrong and it should be about rehabilitation, free therapy, and recidivism rates and the only reason anyone does anything bad is because society failed to coddle them enough until they don’t, then think the justice system should be about maximum punishment and humiliation? I guess that only applies to violent felons and sex offenders?

Wonder how fast she was arraigned and how much hard time she did?

an attempted violent overthrow of the government,
it was so violent, grandmas were in the crowd and walking between the velvet ropes

it was such an overthrow, no one showed up armed. worst insurrection ever. seems like the first thing you'd want to bring are guns, or at least weapons, since you'll be violently removing governments officials.
