I'm new here, easy please

Herman is a solid offensive coach. He seems to be only coach that was a part CUM staff back in the day that stayed clean. He did go to 3 bowls at Texas before getting canned.

If not, get Briles away from Arkie. Either way we need a younger innovative offensive coach.

Aranda will run the defense like at Baylor.

Dave Aranda is a low key good guy who is clean, no drama.

All the talk about Fickell. Why leave a program when you can be ranked number 3 in the country and win a possible natty too. He ain't leaving home. Jmo

We could, but will we?

All the Title IX nonsense may make a former Baylor assistant untouchable.

And I say this as a Briles Stan. I have Made many threads about hiring him each time we’ve looked to hire an OC

Agreed , Briles is a part of that generation of innovation on offense. Everywhere you look you see young bucks running offenses with wide open pedal on the gas. We need that. Seems like he will get a good recommendation from arkie for being a clean coach. I would think its unfair to the kid to be judged for what his dad was in charge of at Baylor.

Aranda will be contacted imo by Woodward. Question is does Aranda have aspirations of going to the west coast which is what I read somewhere? USC is wide open.

I would absolutely love to have aranda as HC. Who ever it is if we go get one I want a defensive head coach and a decent OC but a stellar outstanding Oline coach with some ties to Midwest or East coast

It’s that Briles Baylor offense.

It’s fast, it’s simple for players to learn.

Another offshoot of that coaching Treenis Lebbt. The OC at Ole Miss.

And honestly, if FSU can hire Briles, why the frick can’t we?

It’s not like they didn’t have a famous player accused of rape.

He went to Arkansas from FSU.

He coaches at FAU with Kiffin, Houston, FSU and now Arkansas and improve the offense pretty much everywhere.

Aranda isn't going to be pulling in top 5 recruiting classes like we have experienced with our past three HCs. I say this based on what recruits have said about him. He comes across a bit standoffish and weird to alot of recruits. Sure, he does seem to connect to the right people but great recruiters know how to connect to a wide variety of people.

There’s a zero percent chance Tom Herman comes to a school that wanted him as head coach and takes a coordinator job. The male ego just doesn’t work that way. From my end, it’s funny to offer to him as a goof

I could be convinced to hire Briles as head coach.

He’s as qualified as Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day when they were hired.

Not my first choice, but I could get there.

frick tom Herman. Would much rather have Grimes. He’s killing it as an OC.

If he’s the competitor we want him to be, he will want the challenge and prestige of LSU.

There isn't a chance in hell that Dave Aranda is going to be the hire. Again, nothing against Aranda. I think some of y'all still think Joe Alleva is the AD. Scott Woodward isn't going to Hire a coach that probably ranks 40 out 50 coaches. It's not going to be a lazy hire. Aranda would be a lazy hire.

All valid points.

We need a valid defensive guy as much as an innovative oc....

Aranda seems to have good players at Baylor.

As far as recruits

2017
2018
2019

Have been pretty bad , some of them from each class are not even at lsu and the supposed rest are not performing even close to anything that was from recruiting classes from before 2017. We can say alot of negative things about O but I'll sit with these classes were pretty bad as far as turn out and execution esp after losing virtually all of 2019 starters.

I'd be ok with half this. If we learned anything from Les and O, it's that you don't have to be a top level coach to get titles here. The talent available is such that we just need a stable head coach that can keep the program on track. I don't want flashy, I want smart and dependable.

he’s untouchable at places that are currently fighting Title IX issues.

not sure how people can’t comprehend that.
we have to get completely out of the fog and cleared of any Title IX issues before we can take a gamble like that.

Aranda has Grimes as OC. What's the skinny on him?
