He's young, driven and has been vetted for the job since he started at ULL.

He's taking that program to another level and that's hard to do with a school as small as ULL.

I live in Lafayette and hear a lot of his interviews and news on local sports radio. I'm impressed. There's a reason he was offered the AU and SC jobs.

And the best thing is the MELT in Lafayette by ULL fans will be EPIC.

None of those being mentioned deserve anything. They have to earn it! We need to rebuild the team nd have some continuity. They need to show what stye got.

Napier is my choice as well but majority of LSU fans can’t put it past their pride to hire a ULL coach.

He might end up being good but I think it's a gamble and I don't think Woodward will hire a guy that's never been a HC in the Power 5

I think you have it backwards. LSU fans don't give a shite about UL.

The concerns with Napier are that he is a risky hire since he's never been HC at a big school.

As long as the “football people” in the know of how he manages his program day-to-day believe he’s the real deal, then I’m cool with it.

He shouldn’t be merely hired for doing very well and having a good record at ULL, he’s a candidate that there needs to be a lot of due diligence on, and if all that checks out and easily translates to success at P5, then I’m on board

Written by ULL fan. Most LSU fans could give a $hit about his last school. If he wins, we want him. No one really thinks of ULL that much in BR, trust me we don’t care.

Why does he DESERVE to be the LSU coach?

He's done enough to warrant a shot at a P5 school. Auburn and South Carolina agree

I think he is a better coach than Les and O and they both won national titles. I definitely wouldn't hate it

Same here. He's a realistic candidate.
Lincoln Riley, James Franklin, Dave Aranda...
Why would these guys leave what they have to come to a program that has a lot of uncertainty coming (Title IX). Money isn't everything.

All these names pop up every time there's a coaching service (most recently in baseball) and then it ends up being the middle of the pack name or worse it ends up being CEO.

There are guys making shite on UL threads on here all the time. There are clearly more than a couple who do give a shite, whether they admit it or not.

That being said, I do not think most LSU fans that don't want Napier care what non P5 school he coaches at, just that he has no HC experience at a P5 program.

This should never, for any reason, be why LSU hires a football coach.

Napier is doing great things at ULL, but it goes without saying that ULL =/= LSU.

Do you have links where he was offered the SC and AU jobs? Posters of those respective schools on the SECR have repeatedly thrown cold water on that rumor.
