Can Scott Woodward convince Luke Fickell to come to BR?

Fickell has to be #1 on the short list.
$7.5 million per year
7 year contract

Okay it’s a bad fit, until it’s not… Originally, many felt Saban was a bad fit.
The key is, does Luke Fickell want to be at a place that has the tradition, talent, and resources to win a national championship?

That 6-6 record in 2011 seems suspicious.
Granted, maybe he was a bit overwhelmed, but
he was on staff prior to the interim tag, so it’s not like he was walking into a completely foreign situation.
Seems as though he should have been able to post a much better record with that level of talent.

Fickell is the King of Ohio right now, and he's been quoted saying his family doesn't want to leave Ohio. Doesn't hurt to offer, but it's unrealistic.

Tressel was fired right before summer workouts and job was dumped on Fickell.
QB Pryor and a bunch of other starters were kicked off of the team due to "tattoogate".
Fickell was stuck with a depleted roster and true freshman qb Braxton Miller.
He has Cincinnati ranked 5th and hasn't lost a game since 2019.

The problem lies in that would he jump if Ohio State called or is there still bad blood from when Urban chose Day over him.

He would leave LSU for Ohio State in a heartbeat.
He is from Columbus and played for Ohio State.
He may even leave for Notre Dame since he is Catholic.

Ryan Day is young and the only job that I think he would leave for is the New England Patriots because he and his wife are from New England area. So I think Day will be at OSU for a while, especially since he has OSU rolling.
