We travel with the tigers once a year. This year we chose the Kentucky game. We will have a 7 & an 8 yr old.
Anyone have suggestions for things to do or is there a place where LSU fans will be?

Bourbon trail. Skip the game.

When Kentucky wins, protect your kids from the drunkass fans that will accost you while walking back to your car in your Tiger gear. Spoken from experience in 2007.

Skip the part where you go to a football game.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting accosted by UK fans. They're no worse than any other SEC or pro sporting event I've been to. I took my kid to UK FL this past weekend and other than a FU Florida and F Joe Biden chant it was pretty PG. Also didn't see many FL fans getting razzed after the game, and none with kids.
Depending on what your kids like to do here's a couple suggestions. Ashland the Henry Clay estate and the arboretum are nice this time of year. Mirror twin brewing is probably the best kid friendly brewery in the city. The distillery district has a lot to offer but will be crowded. It has a huge pizza place to watch a ballgame, breweries, axe throwing, really good ice cream, and the burl arcade right across the street. Shilito park has a nice playground. Raven run has some easy trails to hike and theres a family friendly hotdog place not too far called Boone dogs. Horse farm tours. Keeneland but the tickets are sold out. It's free to come in the morning and watch the horses exercise though. If I think of more I will post it.

Lots of bourbon and maybe a babysitter.

Go by the Jack Daniels Brewery and stock up. You will probably need it for the game.

You’re going to have to expound on this more…I’ve had or experienced issues with some drunk Florida and Arkansas fans (those Little Rock games bring out the worst of Hog fans), but never Kentucky.

We're touring the Louisville Slugger factory and museum, the kids might like that if they're into baseball/softball.

Keeneland is racing that weekend
It is a true-life fairytale - a living monument to the sport - especially if you're into the ponies, the old historical horse farms, and a fan of the sport and all that goes into it. Try to sneak into the barn area...

Brown water, you’re gonna need lots of alcohol.

Our flight gets into Louisville around 1 on Friday. We are going to red river gorge in pine ridge Kentucky for some underground kayaking and sightseeing. Going to keeneland Saturday for a little bit before heading up to the stadium. That’s what I’ve got so far.

Great write up! If you come across any extra keeneland tickets send me an email at puffulufogous@gmail.com. I've tried all my usual contacts and had no luck at the point. Need four as I have a couple friends coming in from LA
