Retailer/server employees: worst ever customer?
Worked in a Network Operations Center for an ISP
A Dave and Busters restaurant lost their internet on a friday. Manager freaked the F out on me. Threatened to mail our office a package bomb
Also had a customer jump on a conference call and scream incoherently for 3 minutes. literally so loud it kept cutting out. after his ramble, I calmly said, "uhhh what?"

I'm a bartender. I'm 33 and have been working in bars for all of my adult life.
At this point, I don't even rate the shitty customer experiences. It's fricking Vietnam.

A few months back I had a woman come in to place a ToGo order. She stunk of weed and was obviously high as frick. I take her order and tell her it will be ready in 30 minutes. When she comes back she claims she hasn’t ordered anything that that she had ordered and starts with the loud talk routine because she thinks I’ll back down. She then turns to storm out the door when she decides to toss my check presenter across the lobby and I responded by telling her that doesn’t really fix the issue. She then spun back around yelling at me, “do you want this sale or not?” I looked at her and dead to her face told her I didn’t give a frick about selling her a god damn thing and honestly I don’t give a frick if she ever comes back in here. With that I turned and walked off. frick her

Ran a gym for years. I have some pretty awesome stories. One of the worst members we ever had was an insufferable old man who always complained about everything. He was on an insurance program and came to the gym for free. One day he starts beating on the TV on the treadmill because he sucked with technology. One of my employees goes over to help him and he starts berating her. I wasn't in the mood to deal with his crap and told him that he made all of my staff miserable and I kicked him out.
He came back in the gym the next day because he went home and his wife asked him why he was home from the gym so soon. When he told her that he got kicked out she told him that he probably deserved it because he "is an ornery old a-hole" and she made him come back to apologize.
It was always the members who paid the least that caused the most problems.

Not really customer service issue but just an arrogant a-hole on a jobsite. Years ago in college I worked for local lumber company and we were delivering a load of Sheetrock. The building to the best I can recall didn’t have a cherry picker or anything that we could’ve used to get the Sheetrock to the 5 floor. So we were loading as much we could into the elevator and then delivering it to the 5th floor. The damn elevator doors would open up before the elevator was on the floor. It was usually about a 18” step up.
After a few loads, we decided that we should mention it to the elevator guys that were on site.
I guess the guy in charge kept arguing with us that there wasn’t anyway the doors were opening before it reached the appropriate floor.
We kept insisting, he said we were bothering him and that in his 30 years in the business he had never seen an elevator do this.
We finally get the guy to ride up there to 5th floor and bam the damn thing opens up just like he said it wouldn’t. What a prick!!!

In high school, I pumped gas at a full service Gulf station on the courthouse square in my hometown. The technicians that changed oil, fixed flats, and did a few other mechanical jobs, along with the owner, all took off from noon until 1 pm, so I was there by myself. If someone came in needing one of those things done, I'd have to do that, and watch the front. More than once people came in with tractor, of semi wheels with a flat. You had to break them down with wedges and a sledge hammer. The area where we broke tires down had no shade, so if I had to stop working on a rim, to pump gas, I'd be wringing wet with sweat I never got mad at the customer for that, but hated those situations.
In college I worked at a men's clothing store. I hated when mom's brought their teenage sons in and bought clothes the kids didn't want. Before I was old enough to want to buy a car so I could date, buying my own clothes was one of my motivations for finding yards to mow, or other jobs kids could do. Every time those domineering moms would come in and make their sons get something they didn't want, it brought back memories of my mom not letting me get what I wanted.

Someone close to me works at a large retail store. About once a week, they find where some kid has taken shite in the store. They find clothes where someone has pissed in them (probably left the pissed on clothes in the store and exited with some new clothes). Dirty diapers are found all the time in the store, even though they have clean and large restrooms.
Years ago, I worked a couple of fast food jobs. Woman with a Southern Baptist hairdo is at the salad bar (when Wendy's had them). She is piling so much cheese onto her salad that all the cheese is falling into all the other containers. She is making a huge mess. Myra, a young sister, was working the salad bar. She comes over, smacks the woman's hand, and says "that's enough cheese bitch."
Myra had just changed out the containers and they were clean until this woman slathered cheese all over the salad bar.

quote:I go to a couple of specialists that are friends I grew up with. Me seeing Richard, the orthopedic surgeon, and Tommy, the cardiologist, is the only time I ever see them, so we talk for longer than I imagine they have to talk. Every time I go, I feel like your description of someone thinking another patient is bothering the doctor is occurring. Your post tells me I'm right for thinking it. Now I'll feel worse about taking up their time.
As if they have no idea there are people other than them who has to be served.

I delivered Chinese food in high school. The restaurant closed at 9:30 and I left with an order at about 9:15 delivering to a house at the far end of our delivery zone. The guy said he didn't have cash and gave me a handful of nickels and pennies for my tip. I walked back to my car and threw all the change onto his driveway. In hindsight it was a petty move, but I was pissed.

Why don't you tell the story about the jerk who convinced you to change your restaurant to Pakistani food and caused you to go out of business. He was a very bad man

I'm going to save up every rupee. Someday I will get back to America, and when I do I will exact vengeance on this man. I cannot forget him. He haunts me. He is a very bad man. He is a very, very bad man

As a father now, this make me want to tell my wife to buy our son shitty clothes so he will want to work.

worked at Jason's Deli while I was going to school. Most of the sandwiches were served with chips and a pickle spear.
Had one customer who really hated pickles. When he ordered he would demand no pickle, and pickle juice better not even touch anything else on his plate by accident. Well, apparently one of his potato chips had gotten a drop of pickle juice on it and he screamed at me and threw his plate at me.
Pretty sure I know this guy. Severe pickle phobia.

The pickle people just have that sense of taste that can pick up on the slightest hint of it. I have one thst can tell if his wings were in the same grease as the pickles. He has been the only nice one about it. They usually are assholes

If someone tells me he doesn't like pickles, it makes me wonder if he's getting enough outdoor exercise.
